*The older Queen Elizabeth gets, the more she looks like my German grandmother. It's wierd, she looks so much like her.*

With the Queen being from so many Germany lines, many don't think about that.
I saw the Queen and Prince Philip in person a few times.
Watched the Britania dock here in San Diego in the early 80s when they spent 3 days here.
The queen walked a few feet from me and I was so thrilled.
The queen and Philip also attended my church that Sunday, The Episcopal Cathedral here.

When you said the prices are "keener" I am assuming that means cheaper. Is that right?

I came across another word which is different here than in England. We say near-sighted when we mean we can't see well for distance, but apparently you say close-sighted. Did the dictionary get that one right?

Near sighted or short sighted to us means that we can see close up but not at a distance.

If we are long sighted that means we can see distance but not close up clearly.

Once in the late 1970s, Queen Elizabeth came to downtown New York City and I saw her from afar. She was posing on the steps of the Federal Building.

It could well have been 1976. I was married that year too.

jlyspio:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your awesome video tribute to our loving and loveable First Couple!

As Ron Kessler reveals, in his book "Laura Bush": "Sometimes, Condi Rice has seen them holding hands. Other friends have seen him pat her behind."

"It's a remarkable relationship." Rice said. "And I still think they look like high school sweethearts when they're together!" [I couldn't agree more!]

ohiowfan:
Kessler's quote requires a posting of the 'patting her behind' photo!!

Thank you for the basket of eggs, I can remember when I was younger we used to have those for Easter.

Nowadays it seems that only the exclusive sweet shop (confectioners) have them as it seem that the egg with chocolates bars or chocolate bunnies are the more popular in the supermakets.

I am sure glad our president doesn't give credence to all the polls out there or he would be hiding under his bed in a fetal position! He just does his work...something the pollsters need to consider! They need to get a life!
