(Oh, for the days when "disrespect" was just a noun.)

When he first rose near power, word was he "looked like" one of the terrorists who first took the embassy in the 70's. Led the people, organized the people rounding up prisoners, organized protests and rallies, etc.
Don't know if it was confirmed though that he was actually a leader then.

I used to work for a professor of medicine (widely published guy, very smart, had a bibliography as long as your arm) who said that if psychiatrists were to examine a typical middle-eastern muslim man (whose identity was hidden from them), the mussulman would be diagnosed as totally nutzoid, off his rocker, quick-put-him-in-a-straightjacket insane.

Uncle, in regard to the
tiny cascade, it may well be true that they are prototyping now, but they have some 30 sites we know about, many a thousand miles apart. If it's secrecy they're after, a desolate country larger than all of Western Europe combined is a damn good start.
And, I keep hearing they are in the 60,000 range for centrifuges ... that we know about. The surplus equipment available from the Russkis alone is scary.(Plenty scary to operate, too, I'd wager!) Not to mention the eminently buyable Paki-tech, CHICOM-tech, NoKo-Tech, displaced East German scientific-tech, and hundreds of tons of yellow cake from ... you guessed it ....Niger.
My guess, two years for home-boy production of weapons-grade uranium. Buying enough to build a couple of bombs? Probably already done. Enough dirty-bomb fixins to poison a city ... got it now.
Do not sell the Worthy Oriental Gentlemen short, Unc. We don't have that much breathing space here.

Say Unc, I wanted to say that I am getting a lot of my info from Dr. Jerry Corsi. He writes in a rather annoying style, but his research strikes me as solid.
Taking everything with a grain of salt, I'd say I am coming down about half way between his outright alarmism and your (what I take to be) 5-year scenario.

You guys really are probably right. I guess I just wanted to at least give some explainations as the steps that must be taken and possible times that may be involved.
I have no data other then what we read at sites and the occasional verbals given by some being interviewed on the issue (pro/con).
I hope I have not diminshed what I also recognize as being a real problem.
My initial reactions where toward those that think they can start making weapons in short time, if they do not have the fissle materials on hand, and had to produce the stuff from a more or less starting point.
I to am very concerned with how things are going. And I would not be surprised if one day we hear they loose all their known nuclear oriented sites in quick strikes.

Like your original comment. We regardless of time frames have a real problem on our hands. They will eventually have the capabilities of extracting adequate amounts of weapon grade uranium, as well as probably obtaining enough PU239 from other processes including recyling spent fuel rods. It is only a matter of time.
The mad man and at some of the Mullahs are hedging their bets we will not take them out do to world opinion. The more Condi, Rummy and others say we have no intentions of whacking them, the more I am conviced perhaps year old plans are in place to do just that.

I had heard that, also, but didn't pursue it at the time. Anyone know if it has been confirmed that he is one and the same fellow?

Wonder where that fine line of ethnocentrism and "just plain nuts" intersects?
So far, all I'm seeing, hopefully from a world view, is "nutzoid."

So if we bomb Iran we can all come home and there'll never be another 9/11? Is that really your logic? You can't be serious? Have you ever read the Constitution? We were not meant to be a war monger nation!
To: Sir Francis Dashwood
LOL, so WWII was Hitler's Jew hunt. He bombed London in the hopes of hitting some Jews. He invaded the Sudetland hunting Jews. Do you realize how stupid your post is??
To: Sir Francis Dashwood
You're pathetic but funny in your own way.
To: popdonnelly
So we bomb anyone else with Nukes? You still don't make any sense.

I responding to nonsense with more nonsense. There's alot of that on Freepers. Very little intelligence dwells here.

May be no comfort to you at all, but by Easter each and every year, I am exhausted. Perhaps I do relive something each and every year. And that "dread" feeling you refer to? Yep.
Three Stooges sounds like a good medicine to watch.
This, whatever it is, passes each year. You have picked up, I suspect, the rumblings of what has all been hitting the news. 3/4ths of it is delusion. It's a grand delusion to make you feel so bad. Yes, there is good and evil. It's a sentence or headline spread around the world, like bad gossip, with the intent and purpose of depressing your spirit.
Hopefully you will watch that film, and recall, that not all is what it seems.
Whether Iran is going to nuke us or not. Iran only has everything to lose since its usual allies have been neutralized. What you are witnessing, IME, is the "pre-trial". Iran is handling it much as Saddam did. This doesn't necessarily mean war.
There are good people in Iran who wish to see a tyranny of evil stopped. Last I understood, the Mullahs hadn't been able to fully close ranks and shut out the light. And they were so sure no one was watching them -- that the entire focus had been on Saddam.
No matter what, btsea, Be of Good Cheer.

There both wars of agression. Looks to me the nonsensical one is you.
