... Michael Wilford says he was simply a sperm donor. Christin Harris says he was much more than that to her.
Now, the Glenview woman wants him to provide child support and college fund and pay medical expenses for the 2-year-old twin daughters he fathered.
But the Downers Grove man says it's a case of "involuntary parentage" as he had no intention of doing anything more than provide his ex-girlfriend with the semen she needed to conceive. "No good deed goes unpunished," his attorney Enrico Mirabelli, said in court Tuesday.
'I Just Want Your Semen'
Wiford said he was asked to pay nothing toward the in-vitro fertilization or related pregnancy costs and the couple broke up three months after Harris gave birth and he was never asked to provide a thing or to act as a father."
"....She was a lady with a plan-and that plan wasn't marriage," Mirabelli said, "He trusted her, why?" Because she said " I Don't want anything from you. I just want your semen.."

There was a story a while back of a woman who went to a sperm bank, got pregnant, and the surreptitiously got the name of the anonymous donor and sued him for child support and won!.......
I thought was in Scandinavia only?
Child support is the right of the child, not the mother. There is nothing that the mother can sign that ends the right of the child to be supported by the father.
And yes, the mother is the guardian of the child, so if she changes her mind and decides to exercise the option of seeking support for the child it is as legal as church on Sunday.
Every man should be made aware of this.
And he thought at the time that he wasn't getting, er, trucked. Now he knows better.
What's sad is that because SHE wants something the courts will probably give it to her.
But if roles were reversed and HE wanted custody or parenting time with the kids, the courts would probably screw him.
Just mho, speaking from personal experience...I am a bit biased.
half tongue-in-cheek
There are alot of stories on google.com

I suppose you are right. Even smart people often have trouble with it.
Guess mommy figured out that it costs quite a bit of skiolas to get them 'lil' fellars' up and off on their own.......hmmmmm maybe such instructions weren't included with her Barbies coming up?
Naaawwwww......what has real life reality got to do with these two's minds anyway???
If it was one of the well-established reputable banks, I'm sure the bank ended up paying. They guarantee donors in writing that they won't release identifying info without the donor's permission. In this case, the bank apparently failed to hold up its end of the contract, creating a slam-dunk case for the donor -- probably settled with him out of court, since they would have been wasting their money trying to fight him in court.
He should countersue on an unjust enrichment theory for the value of his semen to her, with is the life value of 2 two year old kids reduced to present value.
Exactly the right thing to do. If she really wants the kids this gives him a lever to avoid the situation "OK I won't sue for custody but since I never wanted these kids anyway you sign this notarized document releasing me from any involvement in their lives in any way now or in the future". If she's just using the kids as a meal ticket then she doesn't get anything else from him. Call her bluff so to speak.
I know what you mean it happen to me too.
Pay child support, plus lawyer costs, court cost,AFDC cost, plus interest rates on all of them, and no visistion rights.
A slave for life with no rights as a father but $$$
haha! Don't plant it where you don't want it to grow.
I guess this guy didn't mind it growing, so this chant won't work here.
While they are both dumb the guy is CLEARLY the dumber of the two.
It's kind of funny in a way.
"He trusted her, why?" Because she said "I don't want anything from you. I just want your semen"
HAHA...haha, sorry i can't help it lol
The claim for child support is actually the child's, not the mother's. Based upon this, I don't see how ANY sperm donor can (logically, anyway) avoid liability for child support, absent specific legislation. The unborn child cannot give its consent to waive child support from its "daddy." The only real shield is anonymity, and that would seem to be penetrable (so to speak) by a sperm bank's records. Just my $0.02 worth.
Best. Pickup line. EVER.
Depends on the state. Many states will uphold written donor contracts, especially where there was no romantic relationship between the parties. But with an informal arrangement like this, between a couple which "broke up" some months after the children were born, few if any states will let the guy off the hook.
Parenthood is slavery, but not involuntary servitude. Most of us know what causes parenthood, and we not only volunteer for it, we are willing to wine, dine and flower a lady for the chance.
Dumbbutt. He participated in making a baby. He did it voluntarily, knowing that he was doing it.
No excuses. You make babies, you take care of them. Anything else is irresponsible.
