Chopin At Work





My Humans sit before this big, huge thing
A dark box of Mahogany that roars and sings
Putting together melodies that are lovely and lyrical
While turning large pages, which seems most Empirical
They seem most happy when they attempt to sit and play
Sending soft vibrations through the carpet upon which I lay

If my Humans can do it, then why can't I?
>center>I wait until they're gone and leap up on the bench not so high
Staring at the long and black-gapped shiny smile
As my paw taps an ivory tooth with panache and style
My paw tickles and vibrates, though the note does chagrin
I pause and steel myself before hitting it once again!

Keeping it down longer as the tickle goes up my arm
I decide that trying another note will do no harm
The tickles tease my muscles to let my paws fly and dance
As pretty sounds pile on one another, happen stance
I lay sounds upon sounds in a disjointed Concerto
Then wiggle to one side for a touch of light Libretto

The shiny teeth rise and fall before my inquisitive green eyes
As the tickles take over and make my tail tremble and rise
A commotion is rising beneath my deft touch
Though the squiggly lines on the pages don't help very much
I'm making my own music and I do it without shame or fear
You can have your cherished Amadeus! Chopin likes to play by ear!!!
