Want to make a statement against illegal immigration? Grassroots protest planned.

Posted on 04/12/2006 4:19:40 AM PDT by Diggler

Since it seems like we can't count on anyone to shut off the tide of illegal immigration because each party is falling all over the other one pandering for votes from the illegals who aren't supposed to vote anyways, it's time to show those in Washington what we think. Since we have jobs and can't show up in the streets in the millions, there is a grassroots movement growing that should get their attention.

The idea is to get a concrete brick and mail it to the Senate. Include a note with it (or write it with a Sharpie on the brick) saying something like "This is to help with the wall along the southern border. Hope it helps." We are going to time the sending of the bricks to show up around May 5 (Cinco de Mayo). Imagine what the senate mailroom would look like with thousands upon thousands of bricks stacked up inside.

You should be able to mail a brick for less than $10. If enough people do this (and momentum is picking up) it can be a powerful message to send for a small investment.

Someone put up a temporary page here and there will probably be a more professional page with a dedicated domain name coming in the very near future.

Let the congresscritters know what you think about failing to secure the borders!

Write a message with black marker on the brick and mail it media mail, it's a lot cheaper that way. However, send it now so it gets there on time.

the bricks were probably made either in Mexico or by illegals.

just address the brick and put postage on it. I have had coconuts sent to me the same way.

Ask a mail carrier what they think. Will their vehicles accommodate a huge number of bricks? You may be opening a Pandora's box. I can see tractor tailors broken down on the interstate just because of the sheer weight. It's not like Americans send bricks everyday in the mail.

Since it's legal for me to send, it's the Post Office's decision on how best to deliver them.

If there's broken down trucks sitting along the roadside because thousands of Americans are sending them in, that would get their attention as well.

I think it would be more effective if all Fed tax returns were sent to one location, on the day before the deadline . Not a small location but a large one.

The present system has designated locations, with addressed envelopes, or instructions as to where your return is to be sent. The idea is simple, overload the IRS location with work.

Or just send them to IRS HQ and let them forward it.
Will they arrest 'these' protesters and not the illegal mobs roaming our cities?

"just address the brick and put postage on it."

I put postage on my brick and told it to go to my Senator's office in DC. It's still sitting there. Did I do something wrong?

Welcome to FR, and thank you for your input. From my vantage point it seems the leftists have hijacked the Democrat party as the squeaky wheel. Unfortunately, that's what gets the full attention of the vote-panderers. The rest of us are too busy with our legal-citizen lives to protest and rant all the time.

If "mob rule" is the way the Senate feels it needs to be played, I hope the April 23 DC anti-illegal protest is astoundingly enormous.

The idea is to get a concrete brick and mail it..

I have been writing "Return to Sender" on all mail from politico's and/or govt. agencies, along with the comments "Build the Wall" and "Stop the Illegal Invasion" on the front and back of the envelope.

The US Post office, I believe, must return an unopened letter so I figure it gets seen by at lease a dozen or so government employees as it goes back to whomever sent it.

I especially send back letters from the RNC, or any money-grubbing candidate whom I know does not support building a border security fence. (that's almost all of them)

I've been doing this for about six months now, and unfortunately the junk mail has been getting smaller.

If it's postage paid return mail, you can cut off the front of the envelope and tape it to the brick itself, and the original sender has to pay the postage for the brick. Legal.

If it is not against the law for them to be here then how can we call them Illegal. If is is against the law then why don't we arrest them.

You have virtually no chance of running against an incumbent from your own party in a primary and winning.

You're thinking traditional politics. This isn't a traditional political approach because, in the first place, we will run a grassroots campaign to replace a sitting Republican with another conservative. This means a tremendous amount of shadow politicking, door-to-door campaigning, write-in campaigns and the like.

The traitors in Washington are counting on you believing that an alternative approach is dead before it ever starts. Obviously, I disagree with that approach.

Forget the traitors in Washington... I've seen it be blocked from the state all the way down to the county level.

They don't like using their campaign money to fight within their own party during a primary and will support a bad incumbent over a good challenger.

You're plan is a good one, but it's probably too late for this year's elections. Many of the primary filing dates are already past or approaching too quickly to mount a serious primary challenge.

I think a better approach would be to go after the Senate and House Reps who stand with the illegals. If they support amnesty let the voters know so they can vote against them. Focus on the traitors, regardless of party.

Start by making flyers saying these people support illegals over Americans and legal immigrants. Then list them. Also list their opponents' names. This could really get the pols attention.

And don't look for media coverage. Just take it upon yourself to pass out the flyers. Look to do a couple hundred a week. It's not that expensive. Add some pro-American website addresses for them to get more info. Do not coordinate with any candidate and stay within the stupid McCain-Feingold rules. If enough of us do this, it could kick out a number of the pro iilegal pols.

voting encompasses the prez, two senators and a representative. They all stink, but you only get to vote for yours. Getting active gets others thinking, who may vote for/against one of the other ones.

I think sending a brick is a good idea. Think about it. On or about May 5th 5 MILLION bricks show up at the US Capitol. That can't be ignored. Just think of the press conference Republican congressmen fighting Illegal immigration would have standing in front of a Mountain of Bricks.
