Krauthammer on Immigration Bill
Special Report with Brit Hume ^ | April 10, 2006 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 04/10/2006 4:11:47 PM PDT by Hostage

Interesting perspective by Krauthammer on Fox News' "Special Report with Brit Hume".

He is saying that Senate dems stopped the bill because they want the House Bill left standing as a campaign issue. The House Bill is the one that would make felons of all illegal aliens.

Krauthammer thinks the dems can create a wedge issue by painting the House Republicans as 'mean' by proposing to criminalize those that only seek to do the jobs that Americans won't do.

Mara Liason (NPR liberal) on the same show said the demonstrators represented a huge voting bloc. When Brit Hume interjected to her that the illegals in the demonstration could not vote, Mara replied:

"Most of those demonstrators are sons and daughters of illegal aliens and therefore are legal and allowed to vote".

She may or may not be correct in that statement. If she is correct, then it points how urgently is needed the Supreme Court to review the 14th Amendment in terms of citizenship in the context of "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof".

Does anyone know who organizes and funds these rallies? I observed Jim Hoffa, the head of the Teamsters make the comment that he would welcome the opportunity to organize illegal workers.

Is labor and their surrogates in the DNC funding these demostrations?

....then it points how urgently is needed the Supreme Court to review the 14th Amendment in terms of citizenship .....

And it points to the absolute need to establish a forgery proof national voter id card tied to a national computer bank.

Without it there will never be an honest election by real live American voters.

WHY NOT just REQUIRE BIRTH Certificates as proof?.....they can be certified, and every American (should) have one....just make everyone prove their citizenship....and if they can't send them home to get things square!

I heard the communist group ANSWER was deeply involved.

Since mass immigration only occurred after the 1986 amnesty and took a while to build up there shouldn't be that many anchor babies old enough to vote yet.

So the Rats are going to try to make the Republicans as a bunch of old meanies on illegal immigration?
On these pages many want to hang the same meanies for not doing enough.
Somehow, got to believe the Rats have stepped into it again.

That'd be my guess ... The same people that engineered a panic over the ports in order to divide conservatives. These little "divide and conquer" schemes they've been running are working better than any tactics they've used in years. I wish more people would wise up.

Just like the ports, illegal immigration is a real problem, but the Dems' working it into a fever pitch does nothing but hurt the President and create a schism in the conservative movement. And they know it.

These are being funded by the AFL-CIO and SEIU, every mexican lobby group like La Raza, MALDEF, etc as well as being given thousands of hours of publicity through every spanish speaking media outlet in the US. And some of the organization part is also being done by other leftist umbrella groups like ANSWER and ACORN (which also get federal funds).

When it comes to funding, the only thing they really need to buy is American flags and pre-printed posters and banners protesting HR4437 (something which non-english speaking illegals would know nothing about and neither does 99.998% of the rest of America). The SEIU pays for that kind of stuff. They are the kings of the rent-a-mob crowd. They print the T-shirts, crank out the posters and roll out the banners to gain new union members.

But think of this. How much would it suck to be a liberal black voter in these cities watching a bunch of mexican citizens who broke the law to get here upsurping your spot as the most disenfranchised, oppressed minority in LA/Dallas/NY/Chicago/etc/etc/etc? Its gotta just suck the big one.

""He is saying that Senate dems stopped the bill because they want the House Bill left standing as a campaign issue. The House Bill is the one that would make felons of all illegal aliens.""

Either it's a Rovian-like meme to make Repubicans "scared" or a Democrat meme giving them hope for the future and a distraction from thinking about what their party's bill said. Don't have to worry about not being the "party of the people" anymore.

For the first time in many years, I am truly fearful about the future of my country.

There are multiple reasons for this, but the immigration nightmare is chief among them.

None of my elected representatives seems to give a damn about this.

I think things look differently inside the beltway. Perhaps these folks will be surprised when they see what flyover country is thinking on this issue.

Does anyone in their right mind think that these people are going to vote Republican if they are givin citizenship?

If the Republicans allow amensty to pass on their watch they will be

1. losing their party base voters such as myself who WILL simply stop voting rather than support a treasonous party.

and

2. be handing millions of new citizen voters to the Democratic party.

They ought to call any amnesty bill which passes the Republican Party Suicide Pact of 2006.

Tancredo, from the above article:

“Protestors tried to demonize those who want secure borders because it’s easier to hide behind nasty names and half truths than to articulate a position. It is not true that the House reform bill was intended to make felons of illegal aliens – Democrats inserted that provision as a poison pill. It is not true that we want to criminalize priests or hospitals that help illegal aliens – the House bill doesn’t substantially change the law that has been on the books for 20 years. The House bill does secure our borders and crack down on illegal employers and it refuses amnesty. Demonizing well-meaning Americans doesn’t play well in the heartland, and it’s not helpful to Congress as we grapple with this difficult issue.”

The House Bill is the one that would make felons of all illegal aliens.

I just read that the Dems inserted that clause as a poison pill. See Click here.

You might ought to reconsider that ill-advised statement.

I will wait for your reply.
