From another article:
"When you promote violence, you get violence," said the Rev. Virginia Maria Rincon, one of the organizers. "Our rally is about promoting a peaceful dialogue."
Translation: He deserved it.
There is no mention of any arrests?
The protests do look like the Mexicans are declaring a civil war against the American citizens.
I really do believe they're frightening normal American citizens so much right now, people must be ringing the White House phones off the hook demanding the borders be sealed and these invaders be sent home as soon as physically possible. No one wants our country invaded by another nation, but that's what's being shown on TV right now as I type, and America is seeing it right before it's eyes. It's a Mexican 9/11.
Oh boy, I'm getting all giddy, thinking about it.
I too will note how Congress votes on this issue. Will the Congress stand up for the rule of law or cave in to the illegals?
Sadly, I can't predict the answer to that question.
The Arizona State Board is saying it's quiet and orderly here, so far. Lots of American flags, very few Mexican. It remains to be seen, when our march starts, how this plays out.
My spanish is a bit rusty, am not watching tv, would be too maddening. Not sure I'd get more than the gist of what they're saying. There must be plenty of people who can figure out what's really being said though.
If the organizers and speakers think they can pull off something by speaking spanish, well, they just might be surprised at how many Americans know their language pretty well.
Why can't the speakers at these rallies speak english for everyone to here what they are saying?
They don't want us to know what they are saying. Plus, there's no incentive for them to speak English.
This nation is much closer to a civil war these last two weeks than most people realise. Imagine, if in Arizona for example a "Tancredo" was elected governor and the state capital was stormed, violence, national guard...
We could be a candidate or even a bill away from the start of a civil war all because our government failed to secure the borders after the first amnesty of 1986.
We need a major change in government

We've lost our nation.
So did they catch the guy or what?
I see no evidence that law abiding americans are scared of counter protesting. In fact there are threads on here every day about counter protests. Furthermore I see no evidence that counter protestors would be killed by some group
"He says lawmakers have before them an opportunity to be either "compassionate or cruel."
More like patriotic, American and fair, or stupid, pandering and pusillanimous.
Which will it be??? Oh my, I can't possibly guess.
Too bad somebody wasn't there to clock the kid who hit the countr-demonstrator. Was that kid arrested??? He probably had no green card or visa.
I doubt it. There are too many stooopid, lazy, uninformed people in this country, or they just don't give a damn. Just look at W, and the Senate.
(Kevlar and Nomex on)
Ditto!!!!
Something heavy, a bandanna? How heavy can a bandanna be?
Depends on how many rocks you tie up in it...
These demonstrations have been peaceful. Very well organized.
A few counterprotestors and protestors acting irresponsibly will not change that fact.
