When the Minutemen set up shop at the Arizona border last year to call attention to the illegal alien loophole in US Homeland Security, President Bush foolishly chided these brave patriots by calling them vigilantes. Although chagrined at being deserted by the man who has the constitutional responsibility and authority to defend our borders, the Minutemen dug in their heels and persisted. And persisted.
Their Yankee determination to do the right thing was rewarded when President Bush finally sent additional border patrol agents to Arizona. Even the Mexican government was motivated to pay greater attention, at least temporarily, because of the due diligence of heroic Minutemen.
Before the Minuteman took their courageous stand, open border advocates and anti-American liberals insisted it was impossible to stop illegal immigration. Best to just accept reality, learn Spanish, and switch to rice and beans as food stables, according to the leftists and Hispanic racists.
Thank God, the Minutemen PROVED illegal aliens CAN be stopped, thereby delivering a great victory on behalf of all American citizens.

HOW ABOUT A SOURCE ?? I bet you don't have one.
How about ILLIGAL ALIEN.
Simple enough when you do the math.
The Democrats have not won a 'national' election in over 20 years. GW Bush won by 3.5 million votes.
11 million illegals would put the GOP back to the dark ages.
Politics 101
Of course he did. Also recall that he didn't say a thing about the criminal aliens.
I call it insurrection and civil disorder - call out the National Guard and break out the tanks and machineguns.
I believe we citizens are doing a pretty thorough job of servicing our neighbors (from south of the border).
squatter/invaders
It was all over the Internet back then of how stormfront were trying to infiltrate the minutemen project
Which is why the leaders of the minutemen project distance themselves from that group
The Leaders of the minutemen project wanted their cause to be legit
I've seen the actual transcript. I've heard the sound bytes. Clearly, the question was about the Minuteman Project which was the BIG NEWS that week. The President was clearly responding to the question about the Minuteman Project by saying that they were vigilantes. Only the most obtuse can't seem to understand that. No, the words "Minuteman Project" were never used. But, then again, every amnesty bill, past and present, in Congress has never used the term "amnesty". Get a clue.
Why do you keep forgeting .. or ignore the fact the Stormfront guys were causing a lot of trouble back then??
Forever.....we are a nation paralyzed by political correctness and can't muster the will to prevail.
I cannot believe the illegals have the nerve to demand they be given OUR rights. They have not rights here. They are illegal. If we were to do something illegal our law enforcements would have no problem throwing the handcuffs on us. And, what do you think the Mexican government would do to us if we broke the law in their country?
Most of them do not want to be American citizens. They only want to reap the fruits of our labor!
If my elected officials allow the illegals a free pass, when they are suppose to be representing ME, I will make the polls shake the next election. They better keep this in mind before the make the vote final!
(rant....huff......huff....rant....rant.....)
Easy: Criminals.
This is nothing short of the Communist conspiracy. The Commies see these people as their ticket to gaining power.
These people believe that their labor builds the country. They might as well all march and sing "The Internationale."
The Washington Times directly quotes him saying he did.
Where's this "actual transcript" you reference?
The President never called them (minuteman) vigilantes
He didn't? I swear I watched him say that. What did he say about them then?
They should be called felons... and booted back to whatever cesspool they crawled out of. Either we stand up now... or we suffer the fate of France!
I was one of the original Minutemen. I knew it's leaders before the words "Minuteman Project" ever left their mouths. I live in Cochise County where the first operation occurred and where Chris Simcox lived at the time. I was in touch with him regularly and had him speak a couple of times at meetings of the conservative Republican club I am president of. I was paying a great deal of attention to what was going on with the Minuteman Project in the weeks leading up to its launch, I was there the day of the launch in Tombstone and actually helped register participants, and I was posing reports here and on my own website. I submit that I was paying far more attention to things related to the Minuteman Project last March and April then you were.
I remember clearly the stuff that was being said in the media. I remember clearly what our leaders were saying. I remember clearly what President Bush said and why he said it. It had NOTHING to do with Stormfront and any infiltration of the Minuteman Project. The question was clearly a question about the Minuteman Project itself and he immediately characterized us as "vigilantes".
The leaders of the Minuteman Project were listening to and have repeatedly referred to the President's comments when he called the Minuteman Project volunteers "vigilantes."
