In the long run, that is exactly what it is going to take, for those south of the border to have a real life, where they live.
er, catch and release. That is what we do currently. It does not appear to be satisfactory.
Well, why wouldn't the wall be enforced. patrols would have to be on-going. It would be cheaper than paying for all these illegals.
er, that's because so very few are actually caught. With a wall, the odds of capture would be a virtual certainty.
You might be willing to risk your family's health on a trek that had a 99% success rate but would you risk it had only .1% success rate?
Once word got out that the odds were almost impossible then the hordes would make other plans.
Looks like south Omaha, about half way between downtown and Offutt Air Force Base.
Coasties are pretty effective in the Gulf.
"The jobs left open can be filled by legal immigrants or by Americans."
There's actually only one job that it appears we can't get US citizens to do...that's ENFORCE IMMIGRATION LAW!
They will not be welcomed on our Coast.
Meanwhile let's keep the pressure up on those who represent us in these debates.
Gotta sign off for tonight, busy day tomorrow.
I know. They were after the Ming Dynasty built the wall. The wall was not the only reason for this bu certainly helped. If you are aware of any Mongol invasions that penetrated the Ming wall feel free to elaborate.
perhaps...but why wouldn't you and all your millions of equally poor and discontent neighbors just overthrow your government?revolt! march on your cities in mexico and yell and scream about "your rights"? Go on strike, demand more money from YOUR OWN government!!
That is the part that really gets me. The illegals won't muster up the balls to protest to their own government about their treatment but they have the nerve to come here and march and demand!
my history is a bit rusty, but I was under the impression that the wall was originally started 2000 years before the ming dynasty added to and lenghtened the wall, some three dynasties prior. The actualities escape me but no doubt they can be found somewhere on the web.
I wonder how important citizens think tax reform is, including making tax cuts permanent, eliminating the AMT, and simplifying the tax code, especially now that it's tax return season for most people throughout the country.
The original wall was effective while it was patrolled. Once the territory grew beyond the borders of the wall then it became less important.
I'm willing to bet that the poll was, as usual, conducted among those populations with a leftward tilt, and they STILL got these numbers.
I think it was started even more than 2000 years before the Ming, but I think the huge Great Wall of China that you can see from outer space was the one built by the Ming to keep the Mongols out of China.
Two brief points:
1 - Just visited La Boca, and for those that don't know what that is, you DON'T want to live like that, but you may if we let this PC trend go on (just look at the pic at the top of this thread, and that looks nice).
2 - If we mirror Mejico's immigration laws, we would be fine, and well, who can argue with that, after all, they are telling us what to do... so follow their lead!!!
BTW: ANY country's immigration law would work for us, even ours if someone had the pelotas to enforce it.

I pulled this. Can't comment on the accuracy, but it supports my argument so I will go with it.
