John Kerry Opposes Iran Nuke Strike, Backs Censure
2008 presidential hopeful John Kerry said Sunday that he opposes a U.S. strike against Iran's nuclear facilities that would involve nuclear bunker-busting bombs - and announced his support for Sen. Russ Feingold proposal to censure President Bush.
Asked about reports that U.S. contingency plans include using "tactical nuclear devices" in a possible Iran attack, Kerry told NBC's "Meet the Press":
"I think that is another example of the move from the hip, shoot from the hip, cowboy diplomacy of this administration . . . For us to think about exploding tactical nuclear weapons in some ways is the height of irresponsibility. It would be destructive to any non-proliferation efforts. And the military assessment is [that] it won't work; that even this bombing strategy itself would not work."
Kerry said that instead, the Bush administration should beef up diplomatic efforts and enlist the help of other nations to persuade Tehran to abandon it's nuclear weapons program.

Is it wise to wait for Iran to nuke us first, just on the chance they'll get Kerry, Hillary and Howard?? Er, ah, wait, let me re-thimk my position.
...is this the same Jon Kerry that wants harsh punishments for George Bush? It's too bad Bush isn't the President of Iran or Kerry would be demanding full invasion now.
It scares me that even after hearing all that, 48% of Americans still voted for him. Well 15% are bona-fide idiots. But 48% is a very high number..
I've said it before and I'll probably say it a million more times in the next 3 years "Thank GOD Kerry didn't win the election and become President" I think if he was President then we'd asking France if Pretty please our soldiers are dying and getting shot at may we order and air strike?? Oh we have to ask the UN. He's made some mistakes but I'm glad Bush won the election. History will be on his side I believe.
The best...that WE know of, or the best that has been tested. Speculation: Maybe there is a non-nuke alternative, even in the theoretical or development stage, that can go deep enough?
Wouldn't most everyone, expecting nukes are going to be used, be relieved that, even though Iran was bombed, they didn't use tactical nukes after all?
John who??
One more time: I urge the immediate deployment of a nuclear butt-busting enema to hopefully flush out all that packed up pompous sh*t inside John F'in Kerry.
The only remaining question is: how high a yield device will do the job?
Is there such a high-yield device in ANY nation's inventory?
I "back" Hanoi Boi being tried for treason.
True to form and exactly as to be expected, Russert didn't ask why the SF-180 remains unsigned. Russert likes to pretend he is even-handed. He plays video of previous interviews of inconsequential value designed to allow the democrat guest to easily handle the explanation.
When the impeached former president is again his guest, don't expect Russert to introduce him as such, and don't expect Russert to ask either bill or hillary about the rape Bill was accused of and which he never denied. In fact, Russert has never posed a question about the incident to either clinton yet.
I guess he really isn't interested in the answer or even asking the question.
Bravo, well said.
John Kerry is a modern day Judas Iscariot.
A liar, traitor and loafer consumed with his own self-interests who hides behind a mask of Christianity.
Sure thing. And how about, he used to be a coward, is still a coward and will ALWAYS be a coward.
Anyone want to add to the list and see how many things we can come up with that we hate about Mr. sKerry. It could come in handy.
Number one, he is assuming these allegations from sensationalist overseas media are true. Because he is a hateful anti-American socialist, his bias is always to believe the worst about the country.
Number two, even if they are true, so what? We have contingency plans for everything. We have contingency plans for nuking London and invading Canada. That is the nature of contingency plans; they are drawn up in advance to speed the reaction to practically any conceivable scenario.
I would submit that an Administration that did not have extremely detailed and well-scrutinized plans for a nuclear attack on Iran is guilty of dereliction of duty.
