Another legislative debacle brought to you by a Republican.

There's a good reason the unofficial moniker of the GOP is "The Stupid Party".

Scratch Mitts name off the list of Presidential contenders.

This idiot politician doesn't realize that there's no "personal responsibility" involved when the government dictates to the individual where and when they have to invest their earned money. A good health-care plan is a choice based on affordability, not on legal red-tape and beuracratic boondoggles like this.

Mandatory healthcare worries me:

Do a keyword search for NHS and see what a disaster it's been for the UK and Scotland.

BTW, it will be a serious disappointment to me if Gov. Romney signs this bill into law...big-government plannning will not aid him come 2008.

Linda Thompson barely gets by on her $200-a-week job.

OK...Just by this first line I know this story is BS. There is no way in hell anyone who lives in this country has a job that pays $200 a week, nooooo way. Even if they are illegal, and judging by this womans name she don`t sound like no Mexican.

I guess I can add this to my list of reasons not to go to Massachusetts.

LOL...all this woman has to do is find a job that pays $600/yr. less and she'll have free health care. I predict the state will go broke with all the people who will qualify for the free insurance. Honestly, what kind of clueless people do we have running our state governments? Poor people are always more savvy than these sheltered idiots who are perpetually surprised at being outsmarted by the underclass.

OH COME ON!! And we are talking about Mass here and she is making $200 a week? You can make more sitting on your arse getting checks from simply existing, unemployment, welfare, sitting on a corner with a can asking for donations for Ted Kennedys re-election campaign or Al-Qaeda support would make you a millionaire in a week.

OK, the person who must buy health insurance but doesn't is faced with fines topping $1,000. So, how does the person not able to afford the insurance pay the fine?

If you can't pay the fine, do you go to jail? Are they going to fill up their jails with the medically uninsured?

Madness...This is absolute madness.

Are they going to bring back debtors prisons for those who don't pay for insurance?

Here in California the best health insurance is offered by the state corrections department for the prisoners. Prisoners actual get better coverage than the guards watching them. An inmate on death row got a heart transplant.

Or ask her current employer to give her a $0.29 per hour pay cut...

My exact thoughts... yet the media is falling over itself talking about how 'conservtive' the Mass health plan is... blech.

I saw an article talking about how great everything will be if "everything goes as planned."

My immediate thought was, "Yeah, just like the Big Dig..."
