past your bed time?
WHAT?
it is only 4:18 in the afternoon?
are you the same one that has kept me up past 1 am to try and reach 1500 posts?
Yeah, but we only have to worry about Jack Bauer on Monday nights for one hour.
Other than SCOTUS nomination hearing for Alito, I can think of nothing positive coming from Spector - viewed by a conservative.
LOL!!
I want you here tooooooo!!!
;-)
With that void, it will be up to the locals to enforce border law. They will take the two week course and that is what we are looking at ladies and gents for the foreseeable future.
Your local law enforcement will become border guards since their jails are already filling up with illegals anyway.
I've heard Herman Cain speak on this and he's a breath of reason in my opinion. Not only that, but he's been there and done that. Meaning, he was directly involved in this first hand and knows a bit more about it than someone who is speculating. Thanks for the reminder.
Judging from their comments each and every day, Julian is anti-war and Kiran is pro-gay. These two have to be the most liberal on all of Fox News Channel. Soon, the weekday programming will be entirely infiltrated by the lefties as well. Someone new must be in charge at Fox.
OK, NOW here is an argument that I need to chew on. There ARE people, mostly our political foes, who argue our laws are unjust and need to be "reformed (i.e. weakened). What is RIGHT? What if the law is wrong?
I am by instinct a limited Govt Conservative. I fully believe in the old Leave me the he@@ alone Coalition. I just find it hard to accept arguments that would increase the cost, scope and reach of Govt. I must admit, I find the whole argument far too emotionally charged and have been "ducking" it. 1st time I went to a Freeper Immigration thread I thought I had stumbled into a KKK rally. People were saying things like "I would vote for anyone who put a shoot on sight order in place". Sorry I have NO interest in that sort of "thinking". That has tended to steer me away from this issue other then to punk the worst offenders advocating the "Shoot on sight" type nonsense. I seem to be reacting to the Immigration argument with my own set of blinders on. :-)
In 2004, many on Wall Street were critical of a $15-billion bond deal that California voters approved to cover the state's accumulated budget deficits. But analysts noted that the new borrowing proposal would be more in line with the accepted use of bond financing to pay for long-lasting investments such as highways, levees and other infrastructure projects.
_ The white population is projected to fall by about 1 million people between 2000 and 2020, from more than 16 million to fewer than 15 million. About one in four white residents will be age 65 or above in 2020.
_ By 2014, half the children in public schools will be Hispanic. Researchers say a sizable minority of those students will be English-language learners.
I have to tell you about that demonstration in Dallas, that Fox has shown repeatedly today...
First of all, the same people that are doing this, were in charge of the protests when kids left school, and actually barged into Dallas City Hall...damaging property, while waving Mexican Flags..and screaming VIVA MEJICO!!!
NOW,...what happened after that, is this: They saw all of the news reports about how they made things worse because of all of the Mexican flags...so the the organizers went out and bought a couple of hundred thousand American flags, (no one had their own, doncha know)...and DEMANDED that these protestors carry only the American flags, because they don't want the "negative" publicty.
However, these are coerced flag wavers...they are only doing what they have been told to do...not what they instinctively WANT to do..which is yell VIVA MEJICO..and wave Mexican flags..
Also...there is at least one radio station in Dallas that was organizing a counter protest...BUT, the hosts and station were getting calls warning them there would be "trouble" if they did...and the local head of LULAC, even called the sponsors on that station and blackmailed the...saying they would boycott if they didn't make the station back off...
That is not counting the threats to the cities in this area that even tried to work with the radio station to have their event.
However, both Dallas and Fort Worth are paying OVERTIME to the police to PROTECT the prostestors today.
I just sneaked in when no one was looking...
I agree .. Fedora has done noteworthy research, for which we thank her ;). Fitzie has had some screw-ups .. one guy from VA named Cowles, in addition allegedly to the 16 boxes of sensitive information released to terrorists' defense attorneys, apparently.
Kinda going in too many directions at once, looks like, and I want to know when a superior of his at DOJ is going to inject supervision. I think he's going for the "S" for his chest.
Did you know that "Godfathers" began here in Omaha?? A guy named Willie Theisen, he learned to make pizza at an Omaha Steak House -- "Caniglia's Venice Inn" started as a bus boy, then went to what we called a "Pizza boy" who baked the pizzas and the bread. He then made his own pizzas- froze them and sold them in a local Benson bar. (my mother and I both worked at the Venice Inn about a total of 30 years)-- .
For years I waited on the first "Godfather" - Willie Khol(the actor who did the original "DO IT" commercials - his personality was exactly like the commercials - everyone but I was scared to death of him
You are so Brilliant..
They WANT you to respond in compassion for the illegals...
You can be strong against illegal behavior without wanting to put a bullet in people.....
We can be compassionate by making it easier to bring people into America legally..
what is inhumane is to make it illegal to come across the border.. but allowing them to, so you can hold it over their heads and allow women to be raped as their price for passage....babies dying in their mothers arms from the equivilence of "shaken baby syndrome" while sitting in the back of the truck and shaking from the bouncy ride...and then giving a wink and nod to it as they become plantation slaves....
Imagine.. our plantation slave status is better than where they came from...
So then let's TRULY be compassionate... allow them to come here legally and truly achieve the American Dream....
the rest is just mafia type business....
I am sincere in this belief....
Just a rule of mine, I don't take advice from those who have personal experience in "therapy".
"Most large farms have migrants who live and work on their property until the harvesting is over."
Huh?
Where in blazes are those farms?
My FIL used to have some migrant labor for help, mostly during calving and lambing, but that was 40 years ago. Been better economics (plus a whole lot less hassle) as far as I've seen to buy machinery or hire outside contractors with really big machines to do the major jobs like wheat harvest.
'Course, I guess a BIG farm in New Jersey is a bit different than what I'm used to in Montana; my BIL and his brothers just sold out their operation out on the North Dakota border----the old "Home farm" was 28 sections and they had added another couple dozen square miles over the years.
Closest thing to migrant labor they ever had on that place was their own kids.
WOW!
I had no idea!
Check you out!
An insider on HISTORY in the making! Thanks for sharing that!!!
Thank you for the compliment, EC!!!
You are definitely on fire..
One of the reasons I don't get into arguements about the immigration thing too much is because of the point I posted...I don't want to see our economy collapse, and if that is the result...would my predjudices be reason enough to argue vigorously to that point??
Also...MY personal reasons for not being happy with the illegal immigration problem is NOT a PC reason...and not too many people share my reason, so I don't choose to get into the arguements often.
But, whenever I read or hear something that I think makes sense in making a case for/against the subject I file it in my pea brain and whip it out on days like today.
Regardless of the "debate" you are having with Pukin Dog---this is just SO much more intelligent and tolerable than I see on most of the border control threads...that I have chosed to interject...
Just so you know--- I am reading both "sides" with great interest and you are BOTH making me think...which is what FREE REPUBLIC is all about, IMHO>
