Should be 4 million of 11 million illegals are not working.
Ian, do you keep highlights of the Sunday shows on the site?
But your core question of how do we get better candidates haunts everyone.
The problem is there probably are a lot better candidates out there than those who run but they just don't want to run a gauntlet of being forced to do anything and everything but what they should be doing in Washington which is representing their flock.
Nowadays for a house rep. it's run, run all the time, fund raise all the time, finger in the wind all the time, we just saw the last Zell Miller leave the opposition and who knows how many brave souls are actually left on our side?
We need an entire football squad of Jack Bauers/Clint Eastwoods--leather eating, tough conservatives who only care about the country and are willing to stick to doing the right thing for the sake of the country all the time not just when the prevailing winds blow their way.
oh yeah, I haven't located that squad yet.
They are going to do what they always do, which is to blame Bush. Few FReepers understand that if Congress passes an immigration bill soon, that it is a practical LOCK that Fox will lose no matter what that bill says. Bush gets paid to weigh all these matters against each other, but FReepers only need shout slogans from rooftops in total darkness with respect to how ALL these issues are interrelated.
Should next-year's natural gas-prices go up 50%, they will blame Bush. MiGs in Venezuela? Blame Bush. Port revenue and jobs lost to Mexico because we suck as an alley? Blame Bush. Today, RIGHT NOW, we have the best economy EVER in this country, but who talks about why? That is why John Snow must go, and why no matter how good it gets in America, someone will always find something to bitch about. Today it is the illegal alien, tomorrow it will gas prices. Eventually, it is going to reach a point where if you walk outside your front door and slip on a snail, someone will make the connection to how it goes back to Bush.
I've had enough, I'm going fishing
This is the heart of the problem. Some of us believe the government involvement causes prices to increase, which is why life insurance rates have drastically reduced over the past number of years. People are shopping rates on-line and buying the cheapest one. With government forcing the costs, companies feel free to charge what they know they can get away with charging. There is also a cost for having services available on demand and not waiting for some government type program that allows you to get them. Americans would go nuts facing the waiting times you have in the UK for medical procedures.
you said it right...
it's there and the Brookings Iraq Index site is now bookmarked
thanks to you and Rush
Not exactly. I'm in the business. Much of our current fresh produce comes from Mexico as well as from Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Belize etc. Our border inspections (FDA and state) are routine and solid on health issues. Virtually all of our imported food is the safest in the world.
CAN I COME!?
I LOVE FISHING!
:-)
Thanks.
I was in London a couple years ago and food prices at the market were more or less similar to those in California.
Of course, I have no idea if London prices are equal to those in the rest of England.
BTW, I was shocked that I was expected to bag my own groceries. I kept expecting a "bag boy" to show up and put the food in the grocery bag for me.
It's kinda like Jack Bauer. You can ignore him for a while but if you are a bad guy sooner or later he will look you up.
Exactly, Fox's successor will not even talk... trust me, he's red. That's why we have to get the borders together and fix BICE.
Correction: make that USDA not FDA (which we also deal with.)
re: 4 of 11 million
As they know of... there's no real way to know.
Take a guess how they got the numbers for non-workers...
Take a guess how they got the numbers for non-workers...
and does that include those in prison?
London prices for food are normally slightly higher than other parts of the country but then again it does depend on area to area but again with supermarket chains prices are more becoming the same nationwide.
LOL....I think this is the second time in a week that I have hit the #666...ugh.
Yeppers, I did see that new website...it exploits the military while pretending to back the military....just like Kerry!
It's a case where the critters know where we stand, have polls to back it up and still won't do the right thing.
Which is to secure the border first!!
Can you say kneecap?
