That's a non-sequitor if I ever heard one. What's your point?

Americans would never put up with the price of petrol (gas) in Britain and main land Europe.

Gutirrez says we need enforcement but compassion, with eventual citizenship. He says the federal government doesn't have the will or the resources to deport 11 million people. Our only alternative is to integrate them into society. Says they are necessary to economic well-being.

Do that and the borders truly are nonexistent (as we all believe anyway). America as we knew it back in the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s is GONE forever.

For the same reason they're not talking about all the reimbursement appropriations they want re: the cost of illegals in their states.

Right now, i'm doing lousy work trying to find illegal vs. citizen crime rates and bills from the 'enlightened' on the hill who are so for illegal immigration yet constantly ask for help with the costs in their states.
Can you think of a better way besides reading through THOMAS to find out who put in earmarks for fed money to their states re: schools, healthcare, welfare, prisons, law enforcement, housing (HRLC0), hospital crisis... etc?

Think the problem is the world doesn't really understand the Zero Sum Fallacy. They do not understand the economy expands and contracts. Just because something costs X does not mean that by spending x they lose. The economy can spend x to gain y. Thus resulting in X-Y gains Z for the Economy. They simply assume a cost must be come out of the "govt pocket". Ummm NO, not necessarily. as the old saying goes "It takes money to make money".

Another excellent point. Serious reformation of LEGAL immigration is way way way over due.

Johnnie - I think you know I'm not one of the hysterics about illegal immigration. Far from it.

But it must be acknowledged that all that free instate tuition and hospital care, etc., is costing us BILLIONS of dollars a year. Untold billions.

Worst of all was McCain saying we should be making our decisions based on the protests in the streets. So we should have middle east policy based on street demonstrations?

Excellent point - McLame has got to go . . . . .

re: Mandissa

Drudge has a picture of her. Actually, she's a very nice person and sings well. Her forte imo is gospel music...which Simon didn't particularly like. Unfortunately, she really is large and should NEVER wear jeans if you know what I mean. (Worked in a little Hillaryspeak there. lol)

No, not for a minute. Even thought most Americans are not aware that the government gets more in taxes out of a gallon of gasoline in America then the companies that produce the gasoline get in profit. That includes State and Local governments as well.

I agree. And if you dry up the supply of cheap labor the market force will drive the demand for labor up thru raising prices paid to labor in wages. However, there is a corresponding cost to consumers. Right NOW there is no serious considering of the If/Then here. It's all talking points and factoids.

I'm not sure. The last time I looked it was under a dollar, if I remember right. Maybe someone else knows the current price.
