Dear Barry, You've just resumed your chase on history, going after a record some thought would never be touched, and I'm with you every step of the way.
I know you have taken a lot of heat over the years, and with all the recent news about a new book whose goal is to bring you down, it seems like that disdain isn't about to go away.
And I don't know why.
While many people seem to take joy in expressing the amount of distaste they feel for you, I come as a friend, a light in the dark who supports you 100 percent. It's not a popular stand, I know, but I just want you to know you are not alone. You do have supporters.
Unlike those who like to point at your alleged steroid use as a reason not to like you, or respect the numbers you put up, I find all the off-the-field issues to be moot. I don't care if you rub so much steroid cream on your body that your bat slips out of your hands and lands in right field.

Why not blame those who dropped the ball?
Feds, state and league?
It was sitting right in front of their yaps, and the enitre public, and now there is outrage?
Spare me.
The bit on Bonds is more of the pack mentality.
Nobody cared when Brian Downing was roided up...or was that just iron pumping that got him to look like Superman?
They had their chances to crack down. Year of chancs and did zippo.
What about the NFL?
Where is the cry about those in the NFL?
Don't tell me you think it's the "training table" that's made them this huge in 20 years?
They all dropped the ball, but MLB is the custodian of baseball's histroy and records [Can't think of any sport so stat driven as baseball]. And unlike government, which has a duty to the fans, especially the kids, MLB has a duty to the GAME.
So I'm not just after Bonds. I want the head of every major league player who as used 'roids or HGH. I think that the evidence before the Grand Jury should pass muster in any civil suit the"union" [most worthless union since the NEA, as far as the public goes]brings after these guys [Bonds, Sheffield, Giambi, and anyone else] get thrown out for life. But at a MINIMUM, I want any records they set, or currently hold, as a result of statistics acquired after 1998, disallowed.
