Funny thing is... you're wrong. Half the friends I had in school hung out with me for the sheer fact that it was the only way they could keep their rears from getting kicked up between their ears on the way home from school for being 'different', or not being big enough to defend themselves from bullies.

How large scale was the armed invasion of 9/11? 19 men with airplanes killed over 3000 Americans. What do you call the hispanic street-gangs in the Southwest but armed 5th-columnists whose first loyalty is certainly not to the US. How large scale do you need? Do you think we only respond to invasions if they are large enough?
Invaders have arrived in our country with their first act as one of disdain for our laws. Open your eyes for soon the evidence of a large-scale armed invasion will be evident to even you. I say citizens have the right and responsibility to shoot invaders. It is one of the purposes of the 2nd amendment.
Better yet, close down all hospitals. Close down public schools, stop building/repairing public roads. Disband police and military. Eliminate manufacturing (it is in the process). Abolish all environmental regulations etc, etc ....
In a few words - make USA so unattractive place so nobody will come.
I know this is not possible but limiting immigration to Protestants would make USA more stable and prosperous place - USA culture is derived from Protestantism. (I am not Protestant).

Your snide "close down all hospitals"? It's happening here. Emergency rooms are closing because they cannot cover their costs. What are replacing them are hospitals without emergency rooms where doctors can send patients for surgery without having to subsidize non-paying parasites
Your snide "Close down public schools"? The public schools are collapsing. Parents are sending their kids to private schools, or home-schooling. I'm homeschooling my three kids because I'm unhappy with the public schools quality

I'm saying that, on the scale going from "socialism" on one end, to "pure free market" on the other, we're too far on the socialism side
Many of the socialistic measures we currently have did not exist in the past, or at least not to the extent we currently have them, and the United States survived without them
For example, in my town, we do not have a government-financed fire dept or ambulance service. This does not mean we don't have firemen or paramedics. We do. They are volunteers, and the services material needs are supported by free donations and fees.
If the rhetoric they mouthed these last few days in the streets as they demand their rights in the the country they invaded is not too extreme for you, what would be? Is the demand for the "return" of Aztlan negotiable, as far as you're concerned? Do you want your children to have to learn Spanish to get a HS Diploma?
If these are reasonable to you, fine. If they are unacceptable, and the law won't act to protect our borders what will you do? Ask them nicely to leave?
They are in our country illegally and won't leave. Try that yourself in any other nation on earth.
OK, if you think that the modern social system is a mixture of "free market" with "socialism" and the question is what is the right combination, then I agree with you.
