It drives me crazy that Tony believes in eating barbecued panda bears. How could any sane American believe in eating panda bears? They're so cute and fuzzy and anyway they should be sauteed.
...oh, Tony's never said that? Well, I haven't been listening.
Never mind.

It looks like our side of the aisle got smart for once and actually read the proposed legislation I get the feeling that this is just political theater.
With a very few exceptions, no one intends to pass anything.

These politicians are rushing to pass a law, any law, to appear effective. They are offering citizenship to illegals that, in many, many cases are undeserving of it. The politicians are using the most precious gift outside of religion, namely US citizenship, to woo votes, to gain political contributions, and to appear capable to an American public weary of their feckless performance.

Harry Reid is up in the Senate telling us that this bill is "tough and smart" immigration reform when we all know that's a crock.

Nice recap though. Tony's great eh? He advises us before he says it on the radio. LOL
What I want to know is how do we know how long an illegal has been here? 2weeks, 2months, 2 years? It's a bureaucratic nightmare.

It's a bureaucratic nightmare. You create laws that can't be enforced when you have no intention of enforcing them.

...I do believe you have to have a comprehensive solution, because solving just a piece of it makes the rest worse.I disagree. Think of this as a massive jigsaw puzzle. You just don't dump all the pieces on the table and they magically come together. You sort them and get the border pieces in place first. That's what needs to be done here.

I'm not a regular on this thread and can not listen while at work, but perusing previous threads it appears that Tony is the one conservative talk show host who is in favor of the Senate approach to the immigration problem. Michael Medved also supports the bill and has some pretty good arguments for it.. Plus, he opens up his lines to challenge him more that most hosts, so you can really understand his reasoning against some good arguments.

They are offering citizenship to illegals that, in many, many cases are undeserving of it. The thing is, once they are 'citizens' nobody will want to hire them, and they will just hire the next mob of illegals that come into the country. Rinse, lather and repeat.

Since we are talking about over taxing and overspending, come check out my paper on Dynamic Scoring.
Right now we spend, borrow and tax. Instead, we should measure, tax and CONSTRAIN spending. We should use Dynamic Scoring to measure what can extract from the economy without hurting economic and job growth. Come check out my paper at:

They are offering citizenship to illegals that, in many, many cases are undeserving of it. American citizenship should be the Grand prize. Our Congress is treating it as a Door prize!

Simple, Clint, you ask them!
[End of my sarcasm!]
These politicians need to get out into the REAL world.
