Saddam Ordered Suicide Attacks on U.S. Targets

A newly translated document from Saddam Hussein's intelligence files indicates that the Iraqi dictator ordered suicide attacks against U.S. targets six months before the 9/11 attacks.

Dated March 11, 2001, the Iraqi memo reads:

To all the Units

Subject: Volunteer for Suicide Mission

The top secret letter 2205 of the Military Branch of Al Qadisya on 4/3/2001 announced by the top secret letter 246 from the Command of the military sector of Zi Kar on 8/3/2001 announced to us by the top secret letter 154 from the Command of Ali Military Division on 10/3/2001 we ask to provide that Division with the names of those who desire to volunteer for Suicide Mission to liberate Palestine and to strike American Interests and according what is shown below to please review and inform us.

The document is signed by Air Brigadier General Abdel Magid Hammot Ali.

While the big media has so far ignored the find, Captain's Quarters blogger Ed Morrissey notes:

"If this translation stands up to further scrutiny, it will provide a substantial answer to the question of Saddam's role in terrorism, both in general and specifically aimed at America.

"This memo will prove that Saddam had no intention of remaining neutralized in the region. He not only funded and encouraged terrorism, but he actively recruited terrorists from the ranks of his own military to carry out suicide attacks on American interests."

It is amazing the suicide bombings in Isreal has basically stopped since the Iraq war has started.

We all know where the credit for this find belongs. Carl should have made mention of who found this.

No, no worries. Your story is the first posted. This was just the translation done by jveritas. The Newsmax article just restates what was posted here not too long ago. Good to hear this slowly bubbling into some newsoutlets.

I wonder if Captain's Quarters gave jveritas any credit? I haven't looked.

jveritas does not get nearly the amount of credit he richly merits.

If their were Iraqi's in the 911 suicide terrorist this is where I would expect to find them in the list of terrorist names:

I would first suspect that anyone who still claims to be alive, was a stolen identity. They could have replaced the image on that stolen ID to look like anyone. Would be interesting to match videos of them in the airport to older photos of them from their home town. If the Iraqi's were serious they would have searched their volunteer suicider solder base to find some with similar looks. Or heck, they could have even done some plastic surgery.

Second I would also suspect anyone who spent time in Chechnya or Afghanistan. They could have been killed there and then had their identification transferred to someone else. Same video comparison would apply to these people.

Third I would suspect anyone who was in that March 2001 video shown on Al Jazzier. The timing here is significant. The video comparison applies here, but they could have been killed and replaced before or after the video was made.

Fourth I would suspect anyone who had been in Amercia for awhile. They could have been killed off and replaced by someone who sneaked in over the open US/Mexico border. The video comparison would be helpful here.

I know. It sort of reminds me of the "give credit where credit is due" we went through after Rathergate exploded right here on FR, by fellow FReepers Howlin and Buckhead.

The media credited Powerline, but they were over 12 hours behind the curve.

jveritas should be mentioned by every one of these writers but at least his work is being picked up. Can we do anything to remedy the lack of his not being given credit?
