WASHINGTON - Putting aside party differences, Senate Republicans and Democrats coalesced Thursday around compromise legislation that holds out the hope of citizenship to an estimated 11 million immigrants living in the United States unlawfully.

"We can no longer afford to delay reform," said Republican Sens. John McCain and Edward M. Kennedy in a statement that capped weeks of struggle to find common ground. [TRANSLATION: Amnesty and a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal aliens]

ROFL! This is the GOP Congress that wants to reward illegals with entitlements. Think Mexico will vote socialist this summer? You aren't paying attention to developments at home.

All very nice, but we no longer will have a nation to worry about without borders. At this rate, Russia will be demanding we give Alaska and ANWAR back to them, while the French go for the Lousiana Purchase.

He's lost the most important battle of all, or actually, he is aiding and abetting the enemy.

Thumbs down.

True, but rounding up and deporting 11 million people doesn't make much sense.

Another misleading headline...not the first today. 'Congress' hasn't united for an 'illegal immigrant deal'. Leftists and RINOs in the Senate have. But the House bill is enforcement-only. Last time I checked they were one-half of the Congress.

Tomorrow will be a show-down.. The BULLCRAP bill will be up for another try for closure. Frist hinted that if fails, he may try the House bill in lieu of.. Overnight prayers are in vogue..

One man. One voice. In a room full of traitorous, evil poseurs he stood alone.

Agreed. He's been rightly calling it for what it is from the beginning.

No? How about making their stay "unpleasant" enough so that they leave on their own? I don't have a problem with deporting 11 million, anyway. Round 'em up, roll 'em out.

Overnight prayers are in vogue..

As usual, in the end, that's all we've really got.

John McCain and his amnesty caucus have already caused an illegal immigration STAMPEDE tonight.

That happens everytime the clowns hint of an amnesty. They know exactly what they're doing and appear to enjoy it.

First time in history I know of that elected leaders surrendered their culture to illegal invaders only cause they felt guilty and feared being called insensitive or racist.

Our politically correct parlysis and the subsequent redress for past race-culture based injustices will prove worse than the injustices themselves.

We are ensuring that conservatism is lost

What about having folks gather at their local county courthouses?

There are approximately 3000 of them in the USofA.

Hundreds and thousands of flags...signs...

Everyone would be in driving distance.

Make liberal use of email lists.

Contact all local media.

Just a thought...

All I can say is thank the fathers for the Second Amendment.

It is the only thing that protects us now.

The amazing thing about Senator Sessions was his composure and adherence to facts and reason at a time like this.

>>>Another misleading headline...

It wasn't misleading at all. That headlines wasn't for us. It was a signal for a border stampede.

"It may be a very clever ploy. And given that Frist had so many defections that the democrats had a majority, it would be a pretty good deal if he could pull it off."

With all due respect, I am so tired of the "clever ploy" argument. You don't take a giant chance and publicly pi$$ on your base and your principles as a ploy.
