Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

Evidently Feinstein made a speech on the senate floor about those dastardly illegals in her state...of course this was back when slick willie was president and everyone knew he would do nothing about anything so it was safe to bloviate on any topic at all.

What Senator Martinez just said seems at least humane and a way to deal with it.

Sen. Martinez pays lip service to the US being a country of laws and then says you have to be practical. In other words, if enuff people break the laws, then it is simply inconvenient to enforce them. I hope the IRS has an equally open mind to people who don't pay taxes, because if this is the new "law of the land", I am going to stop paying them.

I am encouraged that there is obviously work going on on this problem, rather than simply political posturing.

Mathluv,

The problem at the heart of the matter is illegal entry is, under current law, only a misdemeanor. It isn't that current laws aren't enforced, it is that, because it is not a severe crime, felony, there are limitations on its enforcement, punishment and those who are guilty can still qualify to apply for asylum. This is why it takes up to 6 months to deport one person.

Very complex issue...

I missed who the congress critter was that just called Tony. But what do you think about his proposal that those illegals here 2 years or less get deported and those here longer get to stay?

I think there's a fundamental problem establishing how long any illegal has been here. Sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare.

Kean was even or slightly ahead of Menendez but NJ in it's wisdom now has a very conservative candidate in the race, or trying to get into the race.

That new candidate can only harm Kean and allow Menendez to win.

NJ is not going to send a conservative candidate to the senate.

You know, not every person who speeds gets a traffic ticket.

I am for any effort to get this under control and to step up enforcement, which seems to me that this is.

If they can't/won't enforce current laws, why should we believe that new laws will really make any difference?

I understand people liking to stick to what's happening on the show so they can read what they missed. However, has anyone ever tried going to a thread to figure out what happened that day? I was out Tuesday morning so I went to the thread when I returned at about 12:30. I read for a while and hadn't a clue what happened that day on the show. Maybe it's an IQ thing but with so much stuff going on, articles being posted and general chatter it's impossible to catch up IMHO. We all get off topic about something. That's what makes this thread so much fun. Fortunately, I remembered Fox repeated the show so I tuned in and was able to hear what happened that morning. I never would have had a clue had I just tried to figure it out from the thread.

Now would be a good time to also mail out a reminder of MD4Bush scandal here at FR. Thanks.

We've donated a great deal to the Steele campaign. I hope they take your advise. Do we have a new activism?

OK, I'll send an email.

Something that is a BIG challenge to securing our borders. Many misguided Republicans and HSW Dems in Texas are fighting to have Perry put a ban on all eminent domain seizures in the Texas Constitution. This is based on trying to prevent the Trans-Texas Corridor, but it's effect on immigration is frightening.

Imagine La Raza buying up farmland along the border and if this amendment goes into effect, refusing to sell their land to the government. La Raza could, in effect, create their own border crossing points.

I honestly believe there is a pro-illegal immigration faction firing up the anti-corridor crowd to stop all eminent domain in Texas for this very reason...

LOL!!

That is what I was thinking when I first heard that...

I think all we will find out is that NO ONE has crossed the border in the last two years!

LOL!!!

I don't want to see it become a felony, but why are some cities allowed to ignore FEDERAL laws, and not lose federal funds. Money talks.

There is no way a wall will work. It might work in some areas - to slow it down. One thing I am learning is all of the illegals from Europe and Asia, etc. I am concerned about Hispanic illegals due to the impact on schools. There is too much pandering to them - in schools, welfare, medical, etc.
