But...I wouldn't be surprised to see this "movement" gain traction.

Most New Yorkers realize that they have nothing to gain by diluting their own interest group's franchise.

"The US code does not even define the citizenship of any individual. Citizenship is determined and recognized by the state in which you live. If you are a citizen of any of the individual States, you are a United States citizen.
"

Actually, the 14th Amendment of the Constitution makes it pretty clear who is a citizen of the United States (first) and of the various States (second).

You are incorrect.

OK so now we have non-citizens voting in local elections and local schools prohibiting the showing of American flags.
Be safe, Be armed, Be American.

He wrote the measure partly as a response to what he termed "the post-Sept. 11, anti-immigrant sentiment that has taken hold in much of the rest of the country."

I see a disconnect between cultures here. The lib cultures of the west coast and northeast think that they can make midwesteners and southerners change their minds about these thing by doing the exact opposite of what we want, as if that will somehow invalidate what we think and validate what they think. That somehow, taking such measures will prove some kind of point.

All it really does is supremely piss us off. Fortunately, it won't matter in 50 years. The blue states populations are declining, while the red states are increasing in population.

"Citizen" a word soon to be placed in the archives of history.

Religion-irrelevant

Personal freedom-irrelevent

Life-irrelevant

Constitution-irrelevent

Borders-irrelevent

right and wrong-irrelevant Big brother and taxation-relevant.

I see a trend.....

Surely there will be a federal civil rights lawsuit to stop this.

This is clearly aiding and abetting lawbreaking, and enabling felonious activity.

FREEPER ACTIVISM: If the bonding agents for tax-exempt NYC (and other municipal) transportation and highway bonds, municipal school bonding, utilities bonding, and the like, are aiding and abetting illegals activities, they are violating their fiduciary responsibility if they choose to ignore felonious activity. They could be held liable. The SEC should be advised of these concerns. EMAIL enforcement@SEC.gov.

FREEPER ACTIVISM Most bonding agents conducting NYC (and other municipal) business are registered broker-dealers and members of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). They are violating their fiduciary responsibility if they choose to ignore felonious activity. They could be held liable. NASD and SIPC should also be contacted regarding concerns about fiduciaries ignoring illegals activity.

FREEPER ACTIVISM Banks doing business with municipalities that are conducting illegal activity are violating their fiduciary responsibility if they choose to ignore felonious activity. They could be held liable for jeopardizing bank patrons, shareholders, and depositors and should be reported as follows:

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is the primary federal regulator for national banks. The OCC's Customer Assistance Group is available to assist customers with questions or complaints concerning national banks. Email Customer.Assistance@occ.treas.gov.

General information about the Customer Assistance Group is available on their web site: http://www.occ.treas.gov/customer.htm.

They'll be following in the footsteps of the geniuses here, who have already made it legal for illegal aliens to vote in school board elections.

From Elections New Zealand

Basically, you are qualified to enrol if:

* you are 18 years or older
* you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and
* you have lived in New Zealand for one year or more without leaving the country

A permanent resident is someone who has not taken up citizenship but who is entitled by law to live permanently in New Zealand. If you have to leave the country by a set date you are not a permanent resident for electoral purposes. This includes people who have student or visitor permits.

Grounds of disqualification

• You cannot enrol if:
• you are a New Zealand citizen who is outside New Zealand and has not been in New Zealand within the last 3 years or
• you are a permanent resident of New Zealand who is outside New Zealand and has not been in New Zealand within the last 12 months.
*NOTE that there are exceptions to the above two rules - for example, public servants or members of the Defence Force who are on duty outside New Zealand, as well as members of their families.
• you are currently in prison for a term of more than three years, or you have been in a psychiatric hospital for more than three years after being charged with a criminal offence

Should we construe that post as support for giving illegals the right to vote?

"About two years ago (1994), Time magazine's cover read, "Thinking the unthinkable!" The story stated that mankind is at the bring of disaster in a world bristling with nuclear weapons. Harvard professor Bernard Lown lamented that mankind is doomed, locked into a race toward Armageddon." Pastor Hagee

It doesn't look like nuclear weapons will be the doom of mankind, instead the sheer stupidity of governments. (/sarc)

What percentage of Americans regularly vote anyway? In local elections the turnout is even lower than in presidential elections. Do you think "illegals" would turn out in greater numbers than Americans to vote?

I'm not speechless often...but you've done it.
