In 1998, two Capitol officers were killed by a mentally ill man who opened fire at the main tourist entrance to the Capitol.
Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) speaks at a news conference after an altercation with a Capitol Hill police officer earlier in the week in Washington March 31, 2006. McKinney is waiting to learn if she will be charged for apparently striking an officer after she entered a House office building earlier this week unrecognized and did not stop when asked. Does this mean Corrine Brown (D - Floriduh) is no longer the undisputed stupidest member of Congress?

If only for a change - the AJC gets it right, on this one.
As for her being unrecognizeable. . .her picture here is surely worth a 'thousand words'. . .

This won't make me renew my "Atlanta Journal" subscription, but I'm glad to see their editorial on McKinney's latest outrageoous behavior.

It is truly unfortunate that the representative from Georgia is nothing more than a race-baiting, hate-filled bigot who sees a race boogy man in everything and the fault of every ill to her life is most likely a white male.
It is THIS attitude and personna that will ensure race problems before they ever get better.

In the next election, DeKalb residents can help clear up that confusion by putting an end to McKinney's employment with them. LOL! They had me believing they were serious until they got to the punchline. Apparently stunts like this will KEEP her in office. Otherwise she'd have been tossed out years ago.

The GA Democrat Party has been completely silent about Cynthia. No wonder since 20% of the state Democrat primary vote comes from her district.

In the past, McKinney has complained that she's mistaken for the "hired help" in Washington. She should be flattered if they think she is the "hired help". In that picture she looks more like a crack ho.

The whole incident has to be recorded on security cameras. I'd love to see the footage!

The fundamental problem in this whole situation is not that the officer 'failed to recognize' McNinny. The fundamental problem was that she failed to recognize him. Not that she should necessarily know him personally, but she needs to recognize the office, just as she wants to be recognized for her office.
