WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said Sunday that he wants a full Senate vote on an immigration bill this week and that he believes urgent action is needed despite sharp divisions over whether proposed legislation would amount to amnesty.
"There are 3 million people every year coming across our borders illegally. We don't know who they are; we don't know what their intentions are. We absolutely must address it," said Frist, R-Tenn.

Don't you think the word "absolutely" is overused in America? Can't these meatheads say something else when they wish to emphasize an issue?

Well, apparently not. Never mind.
Absolutely.............
Good one, Joe!
Nothing has changed, it all will be the same. Something really cold, harsh and drastic maybe. Which laws are they going to abide by....since they entered into the US in violation of laws..why would they be LAW ABIDING?
"..why would they be LAW ABIDING?"
This is the first time I've noticed you on Free Republic, which doesn't mean much as I'm very unobservant, but anyway, I used to have a Cairn Terrier that I loved very much.
I love Bush and I trust him, but I wish I knew what the real reasons are for his stand on this immigration issue.
Is it to try to keep Fox in power? I guess he's better than the communist.
Is it to protect the Mexican oil source?
Is it because he's compassionate about the illegals?
The stuff he's saying doesn't quite satisfy me...especially the "jobs Americans won't do" line which I shall scream if I hear again.
Plenty of Americans mow lawns--their own. I don't, but I have a very nice (legal) Mexican who does.
What do you all think is his real reason? (I do not address this to the professional Bush bashers on FR)
Oh, I see why now. You signed up today. That doesn't disqualify you as far as I'm concerned, but expect some suspicion for a while.

Absolutely not.
Good post. Welcome to FR ;o)
Bump!
In my area mostly white guys mow lawns, a white crew mows mine, not because I picked them for being white but because they wanted jobs and these were available. There are very few immigrants here but the ones here are REAL immigrants, that is they are legal. They work side by side with white, blacks and Indians in doing the tasks "Americans won't do", the funny thing is, they are all Americans! What tripe our pols try to push on us to feather their own nests.
The only ABSOLUTE thing that should be done is to enforce existing immigration laws and close down the border. (shouldn't that have been done on 9/12/01?
Welcome Abroad!
Where do you live? It sounds wonderful!
