We do have a chaotic immigration system. It does have problems. Try useful suggestions (i.e. not "send them on a bus back to Mexico") and discussion. Not stupid protests.

By the way, this won't even have a minor impact. You won't get even 1/100th of the amount of the people you need to make an impact, there aren't that many nuts out there.

I am an anti-ILLEGAL immigrant "type", go take a hike. What is happening now cheapens citizenship and the rights that go with that citizenship and the very strength of this country.

There are reasonable immigration laws on the books, enforce them pure and simple. They used to when I was a kid; I'm a native Texan, raised on the border, don't tell me what I should and shouldn't think about illegal "immigrants".

There is not a person I have seen on these threads that is against legal immigration. Therefore I have not seen a single poster that is an " anti-immigrant type." Again, why did you leave out the word illegal?

Ditching in line. Do you like to be ditched in line at a restaurant or a movie theater. Is that not what illegal immigrants are doing? Because that is exactly what they are doing in the face of those attempting to legally immigrate.

How about cutting you off in traffic. I'm sure you like to be cut off in traffic by someone in a hurry that has no regard for your safety. That is what illegal immigration is about, its cutting in front, in a hurry, not willing to play by the rules of society.

If by anti immigrant you mean anti illegal immigrants then I am one. I am not against LEGAL Immigration. I am against all people who enter this country illegally period.

If you are a person who came into this country illegally, shut up and get the hell out. When you go through the legal process and are admitted into the country LEGALLY, I'll be the first one to welcome you.

If you are here illegally, you have no rights. No right to protest, no right to influence political policy, no right to a job, no right to healthcare, welfare or anything.

We are all immigrants of descendants thereof. There is a difference between legal and illegal. Do you get to decide which law(s) you will break? Illegal immigrants have broken the law, regardless of what Vicente Fox says or tells them.

We have to keep most of the ones that are here, but no more. Throw out any that commit any crime, and build that wall. I am for immigration, I think almost anybody with a technical degree and no terrorist or criminal background should be let in. Also recruit those with other useful skills, such as electricians and mechanics, Eastern Europe is a good place to look for these. But we want skilled or educated immigrants, not what Mexico mostly offers. Considering we could steal millions of brilliant minds from Asia and whatever remains in Europe, which would be far more beneficial than more day laborers.

Sorry but you may find that there are a lot more of us "anti-immigrant types" (Usually refered to as AMERICANS) out there than your limited mental abilities could comprehend.
And while an Americans strike might not get the news coverage that the illegals and leftist do, the reduction in tax revenues, generated by a one-day shut down of productive workers and their employers, would definitely get the attention of the government.
