BORDERLINE BIGOTRY: DEFENDING OUR LAND (defying the rules of our nation means nothing to illegals)
NY POST ^ | 4/2/06 | EDITORIALS

Posted on 04/02/2006 6:07:40 AM PDT by Liz

THE ISSUE: Mexican-border politics and recent immigration-reform legislation.

**** Michelle Malkin makes it clear that immigrants from Mexico wish to get their foot in the door through politics ("Reconquista," PostOpinion, March 29). Defying the rules of our nation means nothing to them as long as political correctness is their trump card. What Gen. Santa Ana failed to do in 1836 at the Alamo, which cost many American lives, this horde wishes to do without firing a shot. Bloomfield

**** Americans have no objection to helping those in need. But millions of illegals are making demands, and many Americans can't even support their own families. Yet we are called bigots if we don't continue to provide free medical care, housing, food and education to noncitizens. This amnesty proposal will create a huge crisis in the future and put this country and our children and grandchildren at further risk. How would Mexico like it if millions of Americans marched across the border and made demands? Greeley, Pa.

**** It is the Aztlan-spouting extremists who need to read history. For most of history, there were hardly any Mexicans living in what is today the American Southwest. After the Mexicans won their independence from Spain, the area was so devoid of Mexicans that the newly-minted Mexican government felt forced to offer financial incentives to goad its citizens to move there. So few Mexicans answered the call for colonization that the government felt forced to offer the same deal to Americans, who answered the call in droves. The Mexicans had their chance, and they turned it down. And now they want the land back after we have settled and developed it. Give me a break - or, at least, a strict immigration bill. Brooklyn

This really does demonstrate the mindset of invasion rather than immigration, as this plan by illegals to overthrow the US government demonstrates: Reconquista Armando Navarro 'Ethnic Studies' Professor at the University of California, Riverside Anti-American Fifth-Columnist Menace.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, what this means (the pro-immigration bill) is a transfer of power, it means control, and it is the young people, the people who are now moving to develop an agenda for the twenty first century they are going to be in a position to really make the promise of what the Chicano movement was all about in terms of self-determination, in terms of empowerment, even in the terms of an Aztlan...."

Technically they wern't American citizens at the Alamo. People living in Texas didn't become American citizens until the mid 1840's, but what the hey michelle malkin needs such historical revisionism to pump up her hyperbole.

Why would anyone respect our borders when out politicians respect neither the law or the citizens of this country.

I beg to differ! A lot of the defenders of the Alamo were american citizens to came to fight for freedom. Congressman Davy Crockett comes to mind.

Really? David Crockett was an American citizen who served in the Congress of the United States fom 1827 to 1833, your historical revisionism notwithstanding

Technical they were American Citizens at the Alamo since neither we or the Mexicans recognized the Republic of Texas.

History will eventually be rewritten by the Reconquistas and their apologists.

Someone's been sleeping through History class again... What's even more irritating is it's the Alamo, always the Alamo, and nothing else happened in the Republic of Texas but the Alamo.

Egads, was there anyone awake during History class?!? Excuse me, but we kicked their sorry rears outta here during the Battle of San Jacinto, April 21, 1836. Unfortunately, they're still sneaking back in.

Not that anyone will pick up on this, but I routinely refer to the border policies and government inaction as identical to the NOLA levees. When the real storm comes, they fail, and real Americans get "flooded out" of their rights and expectations as legal citizens of the United States. The politicians fiddle and point fingers, bumble and procrastinate, and people continue to die or remain locked into poverty.

Is there really any doubt that our nation's fate is the same as Israel's? The parallels to Israeli history are staggering. Mexicans are our Palestinians.

If the illegals weren't here, there would be the jobs for high school kids. The argument that Americans don't want these jobs is a myth. Americans do want these jobs. They just don't want the low wages that go with them, that are kept low by illegals grabbing the jobs. Teenagers can't find jobs because illegal "guest workers" are filling them all and keeping the wages artifically low.

Illegal immigrants are protesting for even more tax-paid freebies, and waving Mexican flags on our soil. Why don't they stay home and protest for higher wages and wave their flags on their own soil?

No wonder Mexico and Central America wants to get rid of these parasites.

The only time "citizen" as a term gets used anymore, is in the context of illegal immigration. Everywhere else in news print and so on - is "residents" or "voters" or possibly "homeowners".

They have done a bang-up job of deconstructing the country over the years. From borders to foreign policy, property rights, taxes and welfare, etc. This is all calculated and planned.

There are plenty of jobs for high school kids and you know it.

The real problem today is that parents don't want Johnny to work in a dirty fast food place or Johnny is addicted to the X-box.

Also labor laws retsrict the kinds of jobs and the hours of jobs for the kids under 18. Maybe you should look into that before going knee jerk.

So they only want the areas with a nice warm climate? They don't want the northeastern states where it is cold most of the time.... Oh, maybe they want the south now, and the rest later?????

Maybe you should wake up to some facts Dane. Always pimping for the ILLEGALS aren't you? A post on FR said it well yesterday, it went something like this: If you are against strong legislation and enforcement that deports ILLEGALS, jails employers who hire them and controling the border, then you are A:)An ILLEGAL B:)A relative of an ILLEGAL C:) A business owner who benefits from hiring ILLEGALs or D:) You are an idiot. I thought this covered it rather well. Which category do you fall inot?

What would happen if Aztlan comes to pass?

Would the SW remain a prosperous area supporting the rest of Aztlan?

Or would it turn in to just another part of strife ridden old Mexico?

Jeeze, such difficult questions.
