BORDERLINE BIGOTRY: DEFENDING OUR LAND (defying the rules of our nation means nothing to illegals)

THE ISSUE: Mexican-border politics and recent immigration-reform legislation.
**** Michelle Malkin makes it clear that immigrants from Mexico wish to get their foot in the door through politics ("Reconquista," PostOpinion, March 29). Defying the rules of our nation means nothing to them as long as political correctness is their trump card. What Gen. Santa Ana failed to do in 1836 at the Alamo, which cost many American lives, this horde wishes to do without firing a shot. Bloomfield
**** Americans have no objection to helping those in need. But millions of illegals are making demands, and many Americans can't even support their own families. Yet we are called bigots if we don't continue to provide free medical care, housing, food and education to noncitizens. This amnesty proposal will create a huge crisis in the future and put this country and our children and grandchildren at further risk. How would Mexico like it if millions of Americans marched across the border and made demands? Greeley, Pa.
**** It is the Aztlan-spouting extremists who need to read history. For most of history, there were hardly any Mexicans living in what is today the American Southwest. After the Mexicans won their independence from Spain, the area was so devoid of Mexicans that the newly-minted Mexican government felt forced to offer financial incentives to goad its citizens to move there. So few Mexicans answered the call for colonization that the government felt forced to offer the same deal to Americans, who answered the call in droves. The Mexicans had their chance, and they turned it down. And now they want the land back after we have settled and developed it. Give me a break - or, at least, a strict immigration bill. Brooklyn

My husband worked a farm in high school. Laying irrigation pipe, weeding crops, whatever work there was. That job is not available to my teen age son because of illegal Mexicans at that farm now. That farmer sold out to cheap labor. We won't buy his produce.
Don't tell me teens won't work, teens do work when jobs are available.
To: Dane
You seem to forget that because of so many illegals in this country the lines for those waiting for a visa to come legally to the US have slowed to a crawl. For example, a vietnamese person who applies for a visa to come to the US has less than a 5% chance of being accepted because of the heavy burden of illegal mexicans already in the USA.

Aztlan is the result of filling this nation with only one group of immigrants (because they are able to cross the border) and limiting access to visas to other groups of people. Aztlan is a result of lacking diversity regarding who comes to the US and who cannot.

What would happen if Aztlan comes to pass? They either don't care or have some sort of unrevealed reparations plan in the works that will cause us to pay them billions of dollars to maintain the upkeep on the lands they get.

I've been telling folks around here (east of Houston) that the local indigenous people were the Karankawa Indians and they're extinct.
Europeans lived here before anyone of Aztec descent did.

Rome burns while our lawmakers pimp for employers.""
I think they are pinping for votes.
Lots of illegal voters at the polling places, casting votes which they are not entitled to. Ask Bob Dornan.
The idea that a non-citizen is allowed to vote is obscene.
Non-union members are not allowed to vote in their contract negotiations.
Why should someone who has NO allegiance to the USA and is not legal to vote be able to fill the ballot boxes with illegal votes????
Wake up America..

BZZZT... wrong. Although they were living in Texas, the individuals at the Alamo were American citizens. http://www.thealamo.org/defend.html (Davie Crockett and Jim Bowie two of the more popular). I suggest doing some research before spouting off.

Also labor laws retsrict the kinds of jobs and the hours of jobs for the kids under 18. What's your point?
All you are saying is that one illegal immigrant adult is taking away a job from MULTIPLE high school kids.

..I wonder if this is what the 1850s felt like.....the unintended consequences of these mass demonstrations is that what was perceived by lazy American citizens and demagogic politicians as merely an economic refugee issue--the mask has come off, revealing the Reconquista \ Atzlan movement --which is political.
Having grown up in So.Cal, I remember La Raza Unida, MECha and other groups 30+ years ago. It is now clear that social justice and ethnic pride is not what their goals are.
Stealth amnesty and race politics can no longer be countenanced. Practical but firm application of security at all points of entry and true penalties for internal offenders in the business world will slowly begin to turn the ship the other direction--a failure to do so now will ensure catastrophe which hijacked airliners could never do...

Church leaders also began taking a stand, including Cardinal Roger Mahony of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, who on Ash Wednesday stated that he would ask priests and lay Catholics to defy the law if it interfered with their ministry.

Statement: "BORDERLINE BIGOTRY: DEFENDING OUR LAND (defying the rules of our nation means nothing to illegals)"
Response: Why should it mean anything to illegals. The laws mean nothing to the "leadership" and apparently nothing to the public at large. We seem to be locked into the ultimate fate of a people: i.e. great concern with eating, drinking, copulating, evacuating the bowels and snoring. With an occasional side glance at "The Games!"

Maybe you should wake up to some facts Dane. Always pimping for the ILLEGALS aren't you? A post on FR said it well yesterday, it went something like this: If you are against strong legislation and enforcement that deports ILLEGALS, jails employers who hire them and controling the border, then you are A:)An ILLEGAL B:)A relative of an ILLEGAL C:) A business owner who benefits from hiring ILLEGALs or D:) You are an idiot. I thought this covered it rather well. Which category do you fall inot? I'm not pimping for anybody and let's the discuss the issue instead of ad hominems and economic envy towards those who are amking a living doing such good and essential things such as growing food or building buildings..
Economic envy is the marxist creed, which you seem to embrace.

I think they are pinping for votes.
They are pimping for their bank accounts. Many of them have blind trusts or other investments in the transnational companies that are usurping our government through "free trade" agreements. Many federal bureaucrats are protecting their plans to move into positions in internationalists institutions-- they see our government as a stepping stone. Doris Meissner, Paul Wolfowitz, Anne Veneman the list is very very long.
