Apache Junction. It's at the far east end of the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

I'm with you on post 54.

They do it to our flag, why shouldn't we do it to theirs?

If they are so big on the Mexican flag and Mexico let's send them back where they came from. Pronto!

.... Some are blinded by the mere mention of the word racism.... they can't see it's being used as camouflage for the criminal acts that have us all in this mess......

The don't talk about it and it'll go away crowd is dead wrong again.

Post 31: an outlying suburb of Mesa, which in turn is a suburb of Phoenix

"The mexican flag was first raised over the American flag on the flagpole before it was burned. This kid deserves a medal."

The Mexican flag was run up the school ROTC flag pole.

The ROTC kids gave back the flag the first time.

Then the Mexican banner was run up again

That's when it was taken down and burned.

Nothing will be solved peacefully.

You are right, it is going to get very ugly before it is all over.

"When was the last time someone burned a flag in protest and got arrested for arson?"

Bill Clinton didn't when he burned the Stars and Stripes not long before he was stripped of his Rhodes scholarship and was expelled from Oxford University.

He said emphatically, that he *will* wear the US Flag to school Monday.

This is something that annoys me (and *really* annoys the military old-timers I know). The American flag is not a piece of clothing. You do *not* wear it. This kid needs to read the flag code (one of those things that isn't important enough to be taught in modern liberal schools).

Hmm, makes sense then, and thanks for the heads up. Sadly I may have to agree with the charges then since it was not his flag. Can't disagree with the sentiment though, but the law is the law.

I don't blame you.

Keep your eyes open, because things are going to get hairy. Young folks have a tendency, especially the macho ones, to fight before they think...to use violence instead of diplomacy.

The young man in Apache Junction has already received death threats and your sister's experience says that her classmates are just as liable to do something stupid.

Don't be afraid to trust parents or other adults who you know.

Still would be arson if those are the laws applied. If that is the law, I can't help but side with the cops here. If I demand that the US obey the border laws, I have to side with the law here also.

Fine. Then the owner of the flag has available a civil tort action, should he or she choose to file such an action.

Criminality? Destruction of property worth under X dollars is a crimal misdemeanor is virtually every jurisdiction. Ho, hum. DAs do NOT ordinarily concern themselves with misdemeanors unless they fancy that said concern will enhance their chances for re-election.
