In the case of Japan we did indeed send them scrap iron before the war started. It came back in the form of bombs. Amazing how history repeats itself and we never learn.

Unless the Iranians are planning on recruiting MacGyver to build their weapons, I don't think we're gonna have to worry much about history reapeating itself in the form of bombs made out of blankets, plastic sheeting, hygienic goods and water units.

I understand your point but:
Iran is an enemy of ours.
Sending anything to them seems to me to be aiding and comforting our enemy.

No telling how much money Jorge is going to spend on this but betcha it would buy more than a few miles of border fencing.
