Conspiracy theory: Yesterday, Specter seemed surprised and peeved that the dems said they woulnd't be ready to vote on any of the amendments on the Immigration Bill...

They stated not yesterday..OR today---

I wonder if they did that, so that the other dems would have a reason to give, if asked why they didn't go to the hearing to help Feingold...

They can say they had to leave or something..

From the DUmp...

. All of the Senators that are MIA were wiretapped.

Seems a fairly logical conclusion to me.

I'm going with what Turner just said, Congress broke the Constitutional Law when they passed the FISA Law and set up the FISA Court.

"How about legislation to allow ordinary citizens to band together to censure Congress? "

I think the legislation is already in place, it's called RECALL PETITION!

What a bunch of total BS this is! Didn't five former FISA judges testify to the SJC that President Bush was within his Constitutional authority in regards to the surveillance program? Ugh!! WHat a waste of taxpayer $$

Feingold to Fein: The President is a really bad guy who broke the law, right? Fein: Right. Feingold to Dean: The President is a really bad guy who broke the law, right? Dean: Right? Why, because we say so.

Just arrived, thanks for the ping, have to catch up.

I don't know if anyone brought this up, but did not many of the same Congressmen / women decide during Clinton's impeachment that censure is an extra-Constitutional step and therefore cannot be sought?

Wouldn't be surprised if Oprah's producers are in flight to Atlanta to film yet another downtrodden sister on the receiving end of prejudice .. jeesh. She's always throwing her weight around and spoiling for a fight .. and now she looks like what she really is .. an arrogant chronic human disturbance.

LOL

Another meltdown from DU:

"Does it seem, to anyone but me, that the Dem party really doesn't CARE

what WE think? It appears that they will do whatever the hell they want to do and then turn around and think we will forgive and forget and keep dishing out our money to them. I'm done. They will not get ONE CENT from me. I'm taking notes and names and NO ONE on my list will get one freakin' penny from me. They are now COMPLICIT in the DESTRUCTION OF OUR CONSTITUTION! The LEAST they could do is show up for this f***ing hearing! What's the skin off their nose for showing up? NOTHING. Shame on them!

Lindsay Graham may be mostly on the right side of this issue, but he is way too impressed with himself.

"How about legislation to allow ordinary citizens to band together to censure Congress?"

Turner suggested that it would be illegal for Congress to censure the president on the issue of wiretappiing.

Oh, I get it now! Repubs argue with facts and Dems argue with conjecture!

Unbelievable.

And how many Dem congressmen and Senators were briefed - how many times - about the NSA program before and during it?

They want nothing than try to get "payback" for Clinton being impeached. As if Clinton hadn't done anything wrong to not deserve it.

What a joke. I hope those involved have their "careers" drop down the toilet as a result.

Dems are not looking out for our National Security. Border problems or not, no one can say that George Bush does not care about our security.
