Hill conservatives warn Bush of amnesty anger
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | March 31, 2006 | Charles Hurt

Posted on 03/30/2006 11:46:10 PM PST by SUSSA

House conservatives yesterday issued a dire warning to President Bush and Republican leadership that they will pay a devastating political price if they proceed with a guest-worker program or anything resembling amnesty for illegal aliens before securing the borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.

"They will remember in November," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, said of voters nationwide. "And many of those who have stood with our Republican majority in the last decade are not only angry, many of them plan to be absent from the polls" this year when the entire House and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election.

I never quite understood the Reaganolotry of so many conservatives

I would guess you are too young to remember the presidents who preceded him. It wouldn't be such a puzzle to you if you did.

And of course that eighty percent doesn't include the former Republicans that got fed up with the party and left.

You jump to too many conclusions about the relationship between my thinking process and my career.

That's why I used the word "reputation" and suggesting influence, instead of calling you a commie nut job traitor as some disputants on FR like to do... :-)

As far as your list...they all have ulterior motives; and George Bush, John McCain, Dick Cheney, and the conservative senators are supposed to be listening to their constituents. As evidenced by the bill passed by the House of Representatives which supports enforcement over red carpets...

Cheers! Cheers!

I will not actively contribute to my beloved country's demise by voting for pro-illegal Republicans ever again.

I've taken the pledge too.

How childish.

What's childish is putting up with Republican's selling out our country because the Dems are worse. Grownups would be demanding they actually have their country's borders, and laws, enforced.

The answer is NO. They will wait for a few weeks for this to die down and for some other distraction to take people's interest. Then they will act to ramrod some form of amnesty through. It is a done deal and nothing short of another 9/11 will delay or stop it.

Can this Nation survive another two or three years of this kind of betrayal, I think, not very likely!

You need to go to bed.

Better yet, go hide UNDER the bed.

Even better, get in your Senator's face and demand s/he stand up for our country's laws and borders:

Is it really?

I say Republicans who recommend electing Dems who are WORSE on illegal immigration, have forfieted their right to speak on the issue altogether.
They are children throwing a tantrum.

As long as the Republicans keep federal spending to a minimum and behave responsibly on matters like border enforcement, I'll be at the polls. They can't ask for more than that.

###

As soon as they start doing either most conservatives willbe happy to support them again.

The illegal aliens and the criminals who hire them and the criminals who harbor them are getting out in the street making their desires known. It is way past time those of us who support the rule of law and secure borders did the same.

Join Veterans for Secure Borders, The Minuteman Project, Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, and other groups protesting amnesty for these criminals, and demanding the government protect our borders.

Unless of course conservatives are determined to bring on and even more "dire" consequences by helping liberals get elected.

###

That's what we've been doing, helping liberals get elected. Some of us aren't going to do that any more.

Well I don't believe that for one minute that we are being led down the path towards our Nations dissolve. What a conspiracy! Do you think Aliens and bees might have something to do with it? ;-) Sorry, just a bit too X-Files for me.

To buy into the sellout conspiracy, one has to actually believe that this President is a traitor. Do you think our President is a traitor? I certainly hope not.

President Bush has the weight of the FREE WORLD on his shoulders. He has a propensity to misspeak on occasion, and to think that a slip of the tongue is proof that he is a one world order sellout would be like accusing Porky Pig of the same (because he stutters).

If I am wrong, well I am well prepared for any contigency, and have been on the ready for years. I love my Nation more than myself, and will ALWAYS come to her defense when needed.

I hope the weather there is as nice as it is here today. Have a great Saturday!

Hey buzz,

Spend 10 minutes on www.rushlimbaugh.com, and look up yesterday's transcript of the show. It was in the last hour I believe. Not only did the Senators and Congresscritters from Nebraska put pressure on the Chief of INS in Nebraska, when he refused to honor their "wishes" and stop deporting illegals (INS HAD JUST FOUND 4,000 ILLEGALS WORKING IN THE BEEF INDUSTRY THERE), they forced him to resign quietly. Rush had the proof, and Rush does NOT lie!

Again, go read Rush's transcript... it is not my story, it was RUSH Limbaugh telling it!!! buzz or Rush? No question in my mind!

Do you think our President is a traitor? I WILL NEVER BELIEVE THAT. You and your family are safe today because of his vision and GREAT leadership. You were NEVER safe under rat control!

Do I think he's a traitor?
NO

I just believe he is doing all he can to hand off the Office of the President of the United States to Hilary Clinton or some other Democrat.
Let's look at the record:

His little Mea Culpa following Hurricane Katrina
The incredibly stupid statements in India about outsourcing jobs.
His attempted appointment of Harriett Miers.
His appointment of Julie Meyers.
The veto threat over over the Ports deal ... come on, his first veto?
The vigilantes statement (actually that's a compliment to any Western History buff)
Read "Compromised, Bush Clinton Cocaine" by Terrence Reed.
It will help explain the lousy campaign his daddy ran. And yes I voted for him, even sent a small stack of Benjamin's to the Swift Boat guys, at the time I was opening a new business and money was tight. So what do I get?
