House conservatives yesterday issued a dire warning to President Bush and Republican leadership that they will pay a devastating political price if they proceed with a guest-worker program or anything resembling amnesty for illegal aliens before securing the borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.
"They will remember in November," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, said of voters nationwide. "And many of those who have stood with our Republican majority in the last decade are not only angry, many of them plan to be absent from the polls" this year when the entire House and one-third of the Senate is up for re-election.

Bush needs to get his head of out of his butt and remember he doesn't work for Fox he works for us.
The voters who will remember include voters of BOTH parties. There are also lots of angry Democrats who are strongly against any amnesty/guestworker program because they're losing their jobs to illegals.
The majority of Americans want the Mexican border CLOSED. We already have enough "guestworkers" to last for the next twenty years. How about allowing some legal immigration from somewhere other than from undeveloped countries?
The question is will the elitists in charge get the message?
How is it that Bush is so clueless about so many things? This is tiresome.
The answer is NO. They will wait for a few weeks for this to die down and for some other distraction to take people's interest. Then they will act to ramrod some form of amnesty through. It is a done deal and nothing short of another 9/11 will delay or stop it.
What else?
That would be a refreshing change of pace, wouldn't it?
He's not clueless. He looks at conservatives like Ted Kennedy looks at Blacks. "Throw them a bone now and then, but don't work to get their vote, because they have nowhere else to go."
The "surfing" Congressman speaks for me, I could smell the stench of amnesty through the TV.
Yeah but I have the feeling it will be short lived. When has it ever last?
He's not at all clueless about this.
He knows exactly what he wants, and he's being reasonably forceful about getting it.
What he wants is terrible, it is the destruction of what it has taken generations to build - but his behavior is not clueless.
I don't expect it to last.
Do you realize just how stupid your post is? Are you really saying that our President is working for Mexico and not supporting the Constitution?
Please, help the country, don`t have kids.
Bush has been pushing for amnesty since he was first elected. He's not going to stop now.
Harriet Meiers leaps to mind. The man didn't have a clue as to how important the Supreme Court is, especially to conservatives who have been anally violated by the decisions of the SCOTUS lo these many years.
"They will remember in November,"
You bet, I did grass roots volunteer work for the GOP and supported them as much could---but they better forget this amnesty thing and start thinking of our national security FIRST or I'm through---and I'm not alone!
and I'm not alone!

That's for sure!
You know that's legal these days right? lol
Haha, nice
