Jesus "Tap Dancing" Christ....

NOBODY IS CALLING FOR VIOLENCE!!! THERE IS A BIG AMERICAN FLAG AT CITY HALL. THAT IS WHERE THE RALLY IS BEING ASSEMBLED!

What is wrong with some of you people??? Why are you scared to assemble peacefully and let Congress know how we feel?

What if the folks in Boston said, "Dump tea in the harbor? I don't know... sounds like there might be trouble!"

I was listening to the show today. I never been so angry as I was when that business owner called in, who admitted he used illegal labor and was justifying giving amnesty.

These businessmen are in for a rude awakening. La Raza has already publically stated that once illegals are granted "guest worker" status, that they are going to demand higher wages and better working conditions. They had better be ready for more aggresive demonstrations, lawsuits and higher insurance premiums. So much for the argument that we need cheap labor.

Two things I've learned in my 60 years is that "pacifism never accomplishes anything" and "the squeaky wheel gets greased." Protecting our borders and obeying the law should be our #1 priority. Congress will respond to the squeakiest wheel - you can be sure of it. Just look at past examples. So, if we don't show the politicians what we want with enthusiasm and numbers, you can be assured that the result will be what we don't want. By the way, have you written your Congressmen? Don't let somebody else handle this problem for you. Become involved and make a difference! Too many people have taken the "let's sit back and see what happens" approach. It just might be too late to do anything about the problem if you do. Has anybody asked the question, "how are we going ensure we don't have the same or worse problem 5 or 10 years from now?" Until there is a crack down on businesses hiring illegal immigrants, you can be sure the problem WILL exist. You have to eliminate the demand before the supply will diminish - economics 101. Come on everybody - GET OUT AND PARTICIPATE!!

Perhaps my previous post did not express my thoughts. My concern is a logistical one. If the counter rally is scheduled on another day, as it appears it will be, I think it is a wonderful and needed thing. But, let's face it, a large crowd gathered over an emotionally charged issue is a time bomb. Why put people and our police at risk? I don't think anybody calls for violence..sometimes things just happen. I couldn't agree with you more about employer responsibility. The problem can be handled by enforcing the laws currently not being utilized. No job..no incentive. Prior events that led to the Boston Tea Party included boycott.

Child of the 60's that I am..I believe that no one will handle things for you. I have chosen another route to make my voice heard, that's all. My Congressmen, at both the state and federal level wish I would drop off the face of the earth, I'm sure.

I am going armed with the most dangerous weapon in the world. A camcorder. I say let the fun begin. I am going to make a video about this!

We seriously need some numbers at this event. It would take something extr-ordinary to get people out to defend their remaining rights. That is a sad commentary.

You have that right - definitely take pictures and video. The more the better - people need to see what the illegal alien movement is really about. Be careful - I would suspect that the opposition could care less about the law and I dont expect the law to enforce it or protect you.

Conservatives and Republicans are hard people to work with. It is hard to get them to turn out in force. There are many explanations, but no good excuses as far as I'm concerned.

The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of our generation of inactivists.

Well, good luck.

I unfortunately agree. However a lone voice standing in the wind - against all odds confronting evil - will make one hell of an imprint on some. That is why we need cameras there - to show how the so called tolerant diversity illegal mexicans are intolerant to the opposition.

The rallies are on two different days - April 9 and 10. So I guess I'm suppose to hide and hope things work out the way I want them to. Sadly, that is becoming the American way instead of becoming involved in what happens to us. You have already insinuated that your Congressmen are not hearing your voice. Are you suggesting that peaceful protests should no longer be considered by U.S. citizens for fear of upsetting someone. I believe it is encumbent on us to participate and show our goverment we truly believe in what we are doing, especially since letters, phone calls, etc. are not doing the job. The burden is on the opposition to keep a civil tongue and respect the same freedoms they seem to be enjoying.

By the way, the English government turned a deaf ear to the Colonists' needs just as our Federal Government is turning a deaf ear to us now. The destruction of the tea at the Boston Tea Party was not part of the boycott - it was the result of a failed boycott. The Tea Company wanted reparations for the destroyed tea and the Colonists refused. It was the refusal that brought things to a head along with a few other things such as having to quarter British soldiers, deaths at Lexington Square, etc.

Enforce existing laws??? It is quite plain to me that the federal government has no intention of enforcing the laws. Otherwise, they would have done it after the last wave of immigrants were given amnesty in 1986.

You stated that you "have chosen another route to make my voice heard" and that you "believe that no one will handle things for you". Please share with us that other route you speak of. I am always open to ideas. It wasn't clear to me which path you have selected other than to avoid the rally.

I worked with Joe May and went to his memorial. I saw this coming. My goal is to go tape and keep my mouth shut.

Again, I must apologize for not making myself completely clear. Especially since we seem to be in agreement for the most part. It appears you, as well as I, believe in contacting our representatives and being the "squeaky wheel". Actually, I don't think my written "protests" are ignored or are falling on deaf ears.

We both believe the existing laws regarding employers should be enforced. Get to the root of the problem, so to speak.

We both believe in peaceful protest. The rally/rally was originally scheduled same time, same place, according to this topic.I do not believe, now or then, that would be constructive. I don't wish to appear redundant, so I will not restate my thoughts on this subject. My concern was the simultaneous dates originally posted for the rallies.

Maybe both methods, written or rally, are equally as effective. Looking back in history, as you have said, perhaps neither is truly effective. Perhaps what is politically advantageous is the crux of the matter. But I digress, that is not the subject.

I live 5 hours away. Wish it was close enough that I could make it. I'd be there. I'm afraid that if The Prez and Congress doesn't do something then there is going to be another Civil War in this nation.

Spanish language TV and radio stations are using our airwaves to incite an overthrow of the U.S.! Pure and simple.

Why do we allow this? Permitting foreign language broadcasts over U.S. licensed airwaves has permitted a Fifth Column to organize itself within our borders. Isn't there anyone in this government the least bit concerned that they are enabling a revolution?
