Ok, I am going to get flamed for this, but at what point does your family's safety entitle you to leave a big bowl of poison out to deal with a situation like this?
You will get flamed and so will I. Anyone who has a pit bull should be poisoned along with their lousy excuse for a dog.
Too risky to leave poison out. Children, puppies, good dogs, cats, birds, squirrels.
But I agree that this neighborhood should have taken some action -- before someone was mauled to death.
Poison is too slow, shotgun is the answer.
Sounds like a good opportunity to put those sniper skills to work.
this sentence if far too light.
your dog kills someone - you go to jail for murder. that's it. and the wrongful death civil suit wipes out your estate, your home, everything you've got.
Naahhh........we won't flame you, but leaving poison outside could harm or kill a child........cook up a bunck of bacon, eat the bacon, and use the grease to fry up a bunch of sponges.....kid won't eat 'em, but the dogs will, and they cannot digest them........
Antifreeze (As long as it has glycol) works well on these worthless beasts. Takes a bit of time, and is painful to them, but would do the trick. It's a 'shame' when a radiator leaks a biiiggg puddle of it in front of the home that lets their sh!t bulls and similar 'Dogs' run loose.
A dog is a fully automatic home defence weapon. Misuse it and you should face the same consequences.
Don't look at the four legged animal as the cause.
Trouble is, in this case you would be the proud owner of a trailer that housed 13 dogs....Pretty close to judgement proof. I would guess from my reading on cycling forums that there is a particular socioeconomic class that does not insure their cars, lets their dogs run loose, drives cars with no brakes, etc., and who know well that nothing will happen to them.
In some places, they are called "Trash".
"Dogs only know what they have been taught...."
Inaccurate. Dogs have instinct, and in many breeds it's a dangerous one.
Good. I wish the sentence were longer, though. We definitely need some deterrence against people who own pit bulls but do not control them.
Why don't you put the blame where it belongs to. On the owner of the dog and not the dog. My son used to have a pitbull and you could not have a more gentle dog like Jersey
At one point, Large had 13 pit bulls in her trailer.
&&
How could one even move around in a trailer under such conditions!!??
Here is a hard to find picture of the new convicted felon.

I had a dog pack roaming my property and killing cats. I couldn't do anything until they attacked a cop's daughter. They were gone in 60 seconds.
That's all well and fine. But what happens if Jersey's inbred instinct to tear apart a neighbor kid would have kicked in? Did you allow Jersey to run loose?
I have heard that homeowner's insurance companies are either charging a pit bull premium or not covering at all.
