That's not a bad idea. I think it was mnearling who pointed me at a provision in the Sensenbrenner bill that would cut off all Federal funding for municipalities and States not verifying illegal aliens at arrest time. That one thing alone would catch a bunch of really bad folks. I must say, I am with Tony about the fence. There are just better ways more consistent with the American tradition that can help in border security--except like VP Cheney said, where the border goes through municipal areas. 2000 miles of fence just doesn't make a sense.

I know exactly what you mean about how there should be a better way but 911 keeps looming in the back of my mind. I keep seeing those two buildings going up in smoke and it makes me believe that we are incredibly vulnerable to attack.
From my standpoint if it takes a fence to enhance our security, protect our borders and keep out illegals then we should do it.
How many congressional districts would CA lose if 5 or 6 million of its population were taken away??? Could they possibly go to red states like WY or NE???
One reason DeLay is hated by Dems almost as much as Bush was that he used the illegals in Texas to reapportion the population into 6 new congressional seats, and turned them into Repub seats
I'm sure Rush will set it all straight when he returns.
The democrats are definitely aware of that fact and it needs to be changed. If they get their amnesty schemes passed they could wind up in power for years to come, taxing and spending us into the ground. I can't believe so many in the GOP are blind to the obvious threat.
