House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Where ya been, Bonzo?!? I've been worried about you. We nearly leased your bunker out to some Katrina refugees.
And food doesn't get to market, but what the hey at least the economy is "junior_g idealogically pure".
There was a country that also went for that standard and it collapsed, it was called the Soviet Union.
I know, cboldt almost got me too. :-)
Boner is the lobbyists' favorite new whore. Perhaps WalMart sent a few mil his way to get on the Amnesty train. He certainly raked in big bux from MBNA to slam through the Bankruptcy deform bill.
It is impressive that we've captured and deported at taxpayer expense 6 million illegal trespassers of our borders (in 5 years).
But capturing 12 to 20 million who are already inside the U.S., who are living unregistered and essentially off the grid, is as difficult for illegal aliens as for any other category of lawbreaker.
Imagine the resources required to capture 12 million tax cheats, or 12 million frauds...much less deport them. Such an effort would put Heinrich's trains and concentration camps of WW2 to shame (some 6 million rounded up in Europe).
This effort could require fewer resources, however, if illegal aliens inside the U.S. were convinced to voluntarily register themselves (and their employers) with our government.
You want registration to enable banning, yes (e.g. gun control)?!
From your lips to God's ears, as the saying goes!
"Reid has already said he will filibuster it."
You seem pleased with that.
If employers actually are held accountable for breaking the law and nobody but American citizens receive government benefits, there won't be any need to "capture" anyone except drug dealers.
Hay, wach it. I'mm a crd carying member of minsa. We don't cottun ta newanced slurs on are intleagence.
You are engaged in wishful thinking.
Then try to correct me on facts. I've certainly found plenty of your claims that had to be corrected, and I've done so with sourced links.
President Bush is serious about border security. You should be thrilled by that fact. That you aren't thrilled hints that you have an agenda outside the border issue.

"The president cited a 66 percent increase in border-security funding since he took office, along with a 42 percent increase in interior-enforcement spending and a total of 6 million illegal aliens caught and returned home." http://www.washingtontimes.com/functions/print.php?StoryID=20060326-123457-5749r

Food would go to market. You must have a very low opinion of Americans if you believe that the nation would collapse as the result of effective immigration enforcement.
You show me a job that "no American will do" and I'll show you a job that doesn't really need to be done.
Turning the US into Oaxaca just so you and your buddies can hold down inflation is your idea of rational ? Importing an entire new welfare underclass who will vote redistributionist is your idea of rational ?
In your post, you take the idea of deporting illegals and compared it to both a) Sending the jews to death camps and b) gun control. Give me a break.
Seeing how Katrina evacuees refuse to go back to their city to rebuild, with jobs offering $20 an hour or more, I would say yes.
Works for me.
What's amazing is that he started selling us out over two decades ago, before we even heard of him! Damn, he's good!
