Boehner hints a back down on 'amnesty'
The Washington Times ^ | March 29, 2006 | Charles hurt

Posted on 03/29/2006 7:15:28 AM PST by surely_you_jest

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

This amnesty is the road to hell. I cannot confirm but legal immigration will be doubled along with an amnesty for 12 million (there really are 20 million) illegal aliens. Plus 400,000 additional guest worker visas each year which will cover even more Mexicans and Hispanics who want to jam in here. This what the damnable Senate has planned for America

No. Actually, they didn't. In fact, in the Marines they taught us that if we found ourselves in a fair fight that we obviously failed to plan properly.

I was just curious as to if you were ever going to try and defend your position as an open borders lobbyist and criminal apologist. Guess not...

Is that because you know it is indefensible? Or because you have a strong masochistic streak and just love being our sock puppet?

America was also settled by Africans impressed into bondage, indentured servants and people who crossed the Bering Strait.

What exactly is your point?

Or is this just another one of those meaningless, cliched banalities that you open borders advocates like to trot out when you realize that your position is utterly indefensible?

This is what I wrote and there's no way a person with an IQ over 70 could figure I said the U.S. wasn't settled by immigrants:I am sick to death of hearing that. Almost as sick of hearing that as 'they're doing work American's won't do'. My mother was a legal immigrant, but so what? I don't go around all day thinking that I'm a 2nd generation immigrant and it isn't the sole component of my identity. I am first and foremost an American. My ancestry doesn't matter one bit in my day to day life. Except that I really like Italian food and have tapestries of Venice all over my house, but other than that, so what?

How you got that premise out of that post is truly one of the wonders of how that damaged little brain of yours works.

There won't be a significant rise in the Libertarian Party
votes, maybe a point or two. However, that, combined with a solid Conservative bolting the GOP to run on a Domestic Security and Constitutional governance will garner more than enough to cause a plurality in '08.

I hope so. In my blind stupidity I once sided with the rinos and bots and have finally reached the epiphany that they are compromised socialists whose only conservative principles are support of the 2A and right to life.

Care to back up that accusation, Spanky? (I realize it's new territory for you, and all, but give it the ol' USMC try!)

Quote: "Why? Our bunker boy brigade has already assured us they're going to lose in November."

No offense, I don't want to be dragged into your fight. It seems to me there is legitimate debate to be had on this issue without mud slinging. It also seems to me that the dems are merely using this issue, which they could give two shyts about, as a means to divide us. Based on what I am seeing in this thread, the dems have calculated correctly.

Why?

So that we won't be bludgeoned comatose by the incomprehensible stupidity and circular logic of you and Dane?

Because your habitual idiocy will vaporize our modems?

Please, elaborate.

the status quo is preferable to simply layering a guest worker program on top of what we already have now.

that guest worker program will be devasating to the US middle class - it means that legitimate businesses will be able to hire from those pools - walmart, home depot - they are all salivating at the chance to lower their wage footprint even further.

let's keep the status quo.

America was also settled by Africans impressed into bondage, indentured servants and people who crossed the Bering Strait

And sold into bondage by their African brothers.

The point being that America has been good to those escaping bondage and seeking a new life.

There was a book a few years back, IIRC, written by a former Wash Post writer called "Out Of Africa", where he went back to Africa and was glad he was born in America.

Think about it before you crap on the people seeking a new life here.

Exactly. How can they even propose such a thing when they don't even know what the numbers are?
