Boehner hints a back down on 'amnesty'
The Washington Times ^ | March 29, 2006 | Charles hurt

Posted on 03/29/2006 7:15:28 AM PST by surely_you_jest

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Of course they are, Sweetheart. Just like they did in 2000, 2002, and 2004. One of these days you'll be correct, too. It may well be this November. If not, sometime later down the road.

And then a few months later reality will set in...

That's being kind.

There are some pretty astute bags of dirt out there.

At least, in comparison to Coop.

From everything I see and hear on the issue of shamnesty, it would seem that the Repubs are running over their own grandmothers to hug and illegal, and a F U to America.

The only reason I made the observation was that I had a bit of trouble, early in my career, with a coupon in a direct mailing that looked "too much" like actual currency. It was an expensive mistake, and an embarassing one for my employer. Changing the scale of it might be enough to avoid difficulties ... I didn't.

"Every immigrant group goes through the same levels of hatred and bigotry until they get themselves established in a community. The problem with our current crop of ILLEGALS is that they are criminals. By definition. Those who come here legally don't remain as isolated. Rewarding the criminals with an amnesty only cheapens what it means to come to America and BECOME an American."

Yeah, you are calling people who come to the US seeking a better life "criminals", no wonder they find succor in the leftists who wish to exploit them.

That's basically what this most recent affront amounts to.

You pay taxes?

You abide by the law?

You consider yourself a good, industrious, upstanding citizen?

Well, screw you, buddy!

Quote "Reid has already said he will filibuster it."

Good, let him. The Republicans need to act on this issue and secure the damn borders. But also important is that they need to act on this issue as a means to smoke the dems out. No more of the dems saying the words "homeland security" and not meaning a damn thing. Now is the time to show America what the dems true version of homeland security is, namely, no security at all.

Negative. They want to win and see this as a winning issue. Only rabidly IGNORANT fools will criticize the sensible action that the President and Congress are putting into place. If the GOP loses -anything-, it is ALWAYS the fault of the people who sit out or vote for third party.

Viva la GOP!! It can do no wrong!!

I see, so voting against 70 to 80 percent of the nation IS a winning issue?

(psst, I know it's sarcasm, just adding to it)

Why? Our bunker boy brigade has already assured us they're going to lose in November.

I can't wait to see the reactions on these Quisling, FROBL's faces when their favorite new Americans decide to elect an Evo Morales/Hugo Chavez/Lula clone as POTUS.
