House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

It really is.
I always thought that FR represented a really good microcosm of the Republican universe.
I try to remember that at the times that I wish certain folks were no longer here.
;-)
What are you, the second team? Sheesh, running out of regular posse already?
As long as that post reflects the level of your input to a rational discussion, it ain't gonna mean much.
That about sums it up. We are the greatest nation on earth, but far from the proudest. When I was in school, we were taught to be patriotic. That is not the case now; and I don't know how a country survives when its children are told to be "open-minded" and not consider America to be any better than some 3rd world hellhole.
Ding ding ding!! We have a winner!! And let's not forget the terrible "split personality" syndrome so many of them seem to suffer from. The poor dears.
Correct on all counts.
They post about some us everyday.
I have been sent pings to various sites. One that you mentioned.
The banned folks from here. I liked some of them.
What is going on is an attempt to secure the border (House) while letting Mexicans know that they CAN come here to work with proper documentation (Senate guest worker program).
All of the demogoguing from the left and the right is not helping anyone come to a solution. Instead it is creating division within our country and alienating the Mexicans, which could be a problem for us down the road.
Very interesting, especially in view of the recent announcement about the huge discovery of oil by Mexico in the gulf.
I'm not even gonna gripe at this point about how much oil we could possibly discover in the gulf. Gee whiz, we have a gulf too, but the dems would be all over that.
And they are so stupid. Oil drilling in the gulf would hurt nothing and nobody. Oil spills are bad but not to do with drilling. Okay, I guess I am gonna gripe about that (ha)
Anyway, the President has earned my trust and respect and, although I'm mad as heck about the protests and the border INsecurity, I trust that he has his reasons for his stand and this may well be one of them.
To everybody who's griping about gas prices today, I say, we fought a war for oil according to you guys so where the heck is it??
Actually, I would most assuredly enjoy being a guest speaker. I'm just not so sure the feeling would be mutual. ;-)
How dare you ruin a perfectly good hysterical thread with facts, logic and the like! You should hang your head in shame!
But it all goes onto the world market.
We haven't bought any Iranian crude in over 25 years, and we used to. All that means is that Iranian crude goes to a market previously served by Saudi Arabia or Venezuela. It doesn't really affect us or Iran. It only changes the shipping lanes.
ROFL!
That poster is suspended again? Some day the mods (you? LOL) will make it permanent.
Yes - when she first joined here she freepmailed me repeatedly asking me to join her in some sort of jihad to get rid of posters she thought were trolls. I don't remember who they were but do remember that while a few were probably disruptors (just like she is), many of them were good Freepers who just didn't happen to agree with some Republican that day.
HAR! I saw that one. I was sent a link to it in FR mail!
You's a STAR, baby.
Of course, what he says iscolored by his employment. What he said should be verifiable from other sources, which I intend to do in a couple of hours.
At least he said who he is working for, unlike Colonel Hunt, who doesn't disclose he is working for Hillary. I am happy to know that Morris has some sort of professional ethics.
Let me ask you something, seriously:
Let's say they pass this guest worker thing, what if 50% don't sign up and find ways to get around it so they can still work for cash to send and wire home. Will you favor deporting them in that instance if they refuse to sign up for the plan?
That's exactly what we have now. Are all of you people blithering idiots? Blackbird.
Is it buttered? Pass some this way.
Some are quite respectable. But that's the exception.
