House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Really? I don't believe you, sounds like anyone who wants a construction job or other good paying job and shows up to work can have one.
But nice try at frenzied hyperbole.
You dimbulb, I never said they did; you changed the subject to avoid what I was saying.
The American people -- 74 percent of them -- are FINE with a guest workers' program.
Yeah, the Founders were known for their MUSHY beliefs and writings. The Constitution is RIFE with mushy.
Yes. You have been betrayed and your option is to either sit it out or vote for a party with absolutely no political pull whatsoever. You will have the comfort of being absolutely true to your convictions. You will be pure and in a position to throw stones at anyone who is actually trying to solve the problem.
"Dog Gone and I were talking about what the people of this country FAVOR -- and it ain't deporting 12 million people."
Neither do I. But you don't make them citizens, period.
Crack down on employers who knowingly hire illegals, build a wall along the borders, end catch and release, expand the number of border patrol agents and detention centers and have a temporary guest worker plan where the person must go to their native country first and apply.
Which is why our country is now being overrun by illegal aliens.
Prosecutions of those who illegally employ illegal aliens has gone to almost zero under this administration.
Illegal aliens therefore have nothing but contempt for our laws.
How about we enforce the law against employers and take away the government benefits for illegals so that they leave on their own? No tears, no deportation, no expense.
Nobody here said you do. DUH.
Wow, you've learned quick in your five months here. I mean, this IS your only account, right? [snicker]
# 89 percent of Americans think illegal immigration into the U.S. is a problem (30% extremely serious, 33% very serious, and 26% somewhat serious. (Time Magazine poll of 1,002 adults taken January 24-26, 2006)
# 57% said they "favor stopping illegal immigrants from entering the United States by taking whatever steps are necessary to guard the border with Mexico, including using US military forces" (vs. 39% opposed). (Time Magazine poll of 1,002 adults taken January 24-26, 2006)
# 55 percent of Americans think illegal immigration into the U.S. is a very serious problem, and 56 percent agree strongly that Congress should authorize detention, forfeiture of property, and deportation for anyone here illegally. (Roper ASW for NPG, March 2003)
# Nearly 63 percent would support a policy that stopped all immigration from countries suspected of harboring terrorists. (Hamilton College, Feb. 2003)
# 58 percent think that the U.S. should admit fewer immigrants each year. (Zogby Intl., May 2002)
# 74 percent think "the government shouldn't make it easier for illegal aliens to become citizens." (USA Today/CNN, Jan. 2004)
And this was before the huge rally's supporting illegal immigration. Telling us to go back to Europe and waving che banners.
What are you talking about?
So if current laws are unable to deter illegal entry, do you seriously think that a more punitive law will deter them? You want to keep 12 million people in a federal prison for at least a year? Then what would you do with them? Don't just lob rocks, think about a realistic solution.
It isn't 'inability', it is 'lack of will'.
ROTFL!! And that's the killer, isn't it? They swarm in here, pinging everyone of their little posse (yes, Stellar, I'm speaking of cowards like you) and hope to run the normal folk out. And by God, sometimes it works. But other times they run into us stubborn, Kool-aid drinkin', Bushbottin', mod-pet, troll, terrorist-loving, newly promoted moderators! And their "facts" quickly turn into hysteria. [giggle]
You last four quotes are 3 or more years old and mean nothing.
And nothing you posted contradicts what I posted from USA Today.
Excuse me if I refuse to shed croc tears over "high school dropouts" who can't get "decent incomes."
There are rules of life. One is, you eat, or you die.
Another is, you drop out of high school, you sweep floors the rest of your life.
