Just now hearing your plan.
1- Secure border. Excellent and necessary.
2- Separarate good illegals from bad. Definitely need to prioritze the search. The "illegal" illegals need to go like yesterday. Especially the gangs.
3- Make good illegals citizens through improved testing. Totally disagree. These Hispanic illegals came here, not for freedom, but for economic gain. They, in many instances, can't even fake patriotism for America. People searching for freedom will give their lives for it. My hat is off to the immigrants who have achieved citizenship through the military. But, most of those who come here, come to simply make more money and will leave in droves when war or economic distress threatens them. Citizenship is a privilege that should be earned and bestowed on those who bring skills and a desire to be Americans. To give citizenship to illegals is an insult to those who have followed the rules and further sets an unacceptable precedent.
It is not necessary to deport every illegal. But, they can be denied ANY chance at citizenship if they are found to be here. If they go back to Mexico and get in line, no penalty. But, if they stay here, all US benefits need to cease and the only thing they will recieve is the illegal pay that they are earning.

Not only that, it won't work. Some fencing in certain areas, yes. Mostly high-tech motion sensors, IR devices, and high tech satellite telemetry. The US is NOT Israel. Not only is it politically unacceptable, but with 2000 miles of border in treacherous locations it's not worth the money. You can do the same thing cheaper.
I hear you ... but Our Govt worships at the altar of Political Correctness in the First Church of Pandering. In this environment, a fence is a non-starter.

I'm on the 55wkrc link - they just had a news story on about trying to do something about the illegals in Colo.
Was only 1/2-way listening, but I think they want to get an initiative for the public to vote on which would deny at least some state services to illegals (except non-emergency healthcare). They said that 15%!! of babies in Colo are born to illegals!!! I suspect the figures are much higher in CA, NM, AZ and TX - - I love babies and children, but something really needs to be done about Anchor babies
Tony - would you please ask Tom Tancredo and any other politicos what they've included in the *plans* to address Anchor babies.

You are absolutely right. I don't credit myself with being a handsome hunk to land my Thai wife. There was a STRONG economic component to her wanting to be here. We have come to love each other in more than 9 years in ways we couldn't even imagine before. But she wanted a better life! She studied hard, even knows most of the answers to your questions (because I taught her) to pass the citizenship.
