RNC Memo Warns GOPers Not To Distance Themselves From Bush
The Hotline (National Journal) ^ | March 28, 2006

Posted on 03/28/2006 7:52:53 PM PST by Karl Rand

Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.

Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

"Question to elitest Republicans: Do you really think you'll gain votes by telling Americans they're too lazy to work, they're racists becasue they expect the laws of the land to be enforced and unpatriotic if they're not globalists?"

I'm nothing close to being an "elitist", but I am a staunch Republican.

Nobody I know of has said that Americans are lazy, sure as hell not President Bush.

It is a global economy, you'll have to learn to deal with that, we can't go back to 1920.

Illegal immigration is a problem that we need to deal with, but destroying and dividing the party over it wont help.

We can't make any gains at all if we let the Rats back in control, we'll lose everything we have gained.

If we can somehow maintain control of Congress in 2006, and elect another Republican in 2008 ( Allen is my choice ) we can do all the other stuff we want.

By that time we would have solid majority support in the USSC and most Fed, District courts.

The Demonrat party will just fold, they will be fighting with the Greens for minority control by 2012.

I'm not willing to throw that away now, we are too close.

"I'm more conservative than the Pres. but undertand fully the important role incrementalism play. "

But we aren't getting incrementalism, we are getting incrementalism in the direction of liberalism.

We're in Iraq because "it's better to fight them over there than it is to fight them here". But because our borders are wide open, they can fight us here by simply walking in with whatever weapons they like.

or - we can sit back, sucking our thumbs and whining and give control back to the deRAts - they'll pull us out of Iraq, and turn us over the UN s which will impose gun control, (YOu can put thier gun control plans side by side with Hitler's before invading HOlland - they are almost word for word,) take over control of the Internet and tax it, register every baby upon the hour of birth and oh, yeah, take over our military - one big world military under the control of the UN.

They've got the plans all drawn up and ready. Just waiting for the demRats to get back power.

And that will be the end of our sovereignty...forever. There will be no getting it back.

Yep. That'll do it. That'll show Bush.

Do you really think the GOP will run a 72 year old?

Is this time better or worse than the time under the XXX?

To win the Super Bowl the team must play together.

To win the Super Bowl, we have to stop trying to run touchdowns for the other team.

You know, that's one solution to the problem. We can all grow a victory garden.

LOL! I collect WWII homefront memorabilia...and I have several "Victory Garden" posters. I love my fresh produce; and I actually can my own salsa, peppers, pickles, relish, jelly, and jam. I'm the only person that I know in my age group who actually does this. It's a great hobby.

Most people would NOT do this, although they love the fresh produce. That's why we have a huge growth in "farmer's markets."

If WE WANT TO WIN "BACK THE PRESIDENT, OR SHUT UP"

Well and truly said.

WE'LL be the immigrants if we let the DemRAts back in...subjects of the new and restored Caliphate.

If we don't' stay together against the real enemy, we will loose a h*llva lot more than you can imagine. Don't crawl into bed with the enemy.

Right now, you are aiding and abetting - you know they read these posts - you are energizing them and given them fodder to fuel their energy.

GROW UP

Then again, his plate has been a little full - keeping our butts safe - along with all the other unexpected and large crises.

Good Lord. What a bunch of spoiled brats. Don't get the color lollipop you want, you gonna take your ball and go home - leave the battle field to the enemy.

Great strategy.

" Do we want to lose the country like we lost California?"

We lost California because Pete Wilson came down so hard on Mexican immigrants that they all turned to the Rat party there!

I think over the long term I'll do better if the GOP learns that it must serve the nation's interests if it wants to win.

GOpers are "W Brand Republicans"

I suppose if you're going to brand them, you might as well castrate them while you're at it.

We are planning on doing some small scale growing of produce here too, since we have had a few stores inquire about carrying locally grown produce. I hope they are still interested when it's harvest time.

Thanks for the link; I'll check it out.

Let your stores know when and how much you might be able to supply them. It's really hard to know, isn't it? We're flying by the seat of our pants, and figure that lessons learned this year will be education for the future.

So the Whine All the Time Choir advocates replacing a glass 70% full of pure water with a Democrat glass 100% full of the bile that they claim to loath.

When the glass is 70% pure water and 30% pure arsenic I will pass on drinking from either cup, thank you very much.

Faux conservatives? We're not the one pretending that a sellout of long-held conservative positions is a wonderful thing

and the alternative is????

Sounds to me like a lot of fair weather pubs in here - the minute something doesn't go their way , they're ready to jump ship and let it run aground, ceding the seas to the real enemies.

I'm really appalled at the lack of understanding about what is stake here above and beyond the immigration issue. What a stark example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Oh thank you zook. I need that bit of levity -

That's just what's going on.

It's been an eye opener to me this past coupla days to see the level of whining in here.

I think I'll be taking some time off

This is like spitting into the wind.
