RNC Memo Warns GOPers Not To Distance Themselves From Bush
The Hotline (National Journal) ^ | March 28, 2006

Posted on 03/28/2006 7:52:53 PM PST by Karl Rand

Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.

Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

Will that be before or after they ban the New Media, take away your guns, impose thought crime, and open the borders to let all the illegals in?

Right,

and then turn us over to the control of the UN which will control and tax the Internet, enact total gun control, take over our military, ............

Yep, let;'s shoot ourselves in the foot and help the socialists get in.

Some of the rants on these posts the last day or two - I don't know it they make me more furious or frightened. Sounds like a lot of posts and thinking you'd expect to read on the Duers side

Yeah, vote democrat and see us cut and run from Iraq, see futile attempts to censure or impeach the president and see your taxes go up. You can join the Michael Moore/Cindy Sheehan party, but you'd fit better over at the DU.

Thank you!

I was beginning to feel, the past coupla days, that I had slipped into a parallel universe...very disheartening.

Now that I'd heard at least one sane voice - I think I'll shut 'er done and go to bed.

Probably ate it with his six dollar cup of coffee...

(sorry for the repetition on tomatoes, I had a hankering for a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwhich early in the day and went shopping)

See my post 335.

I think maybe I've seen Hunts Point on the Food Network!

I'll send you some fresh Iowa sweetcorn overnight this July if you remind me.

Food is less expensive most of the time here (I used to travel out your way). Sweetcorn in the summer can be had for $.25/ear...from a guy in a parking lot who picked it an hour before. Farmer's markets are huge around here, for all types of products from May-September.

We (my family's farm) sell around 500 market lambs each year.

We are planning on doing some small scale growing of produce here too, since we have had a few stores inquire about carrying locally grown produce. I hope they are still interested when it's harvest time.

Here's an interesting somewhat related thread:

That is so politically stupid and childish, it raises serious questions as to just whose side the Perpetually Whiners really are on. It would seem we have some pseudo Conservative DNC mouthpiece "Freepers" who have attended the Movon.org seminars about "Infiltrating Conservative Websites"

THANK YOU!

It's getting really, but really, disheartening in here.

Is someone passing out free koolaid?

Among a certain group of people here food has become something of a fetish. Yes, I'm certain the guy's four buck tomato was better than my 99 cent a pound tomatoes. The point is, the four dollar tomato was better (and more expensive) than it really needed to be. I'm of the opinion that a tomato (or any other piece of produce, fish, meat, etc) only needs to be so good.

You know, that's one solution to the problem. We can all grow a victory garden.

***as nothing does more to hold down black living standards than the immigration fiasco.***

YOU know that, I know that, but thier "Leadership" is telling them that it's because republicans hate blacks and want them to be 2nd class citizens....

the way I see this illegal immigration sellout shaping up,this child is about to distance (as in, a very long distance) himself from the RINO herd

I am far from unconcerned about illegals - but I am more concerned about people ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We have the socialists who have, over the past 30-40 yrs successfully infiltrating and taking over the Dems - They know if they don't get back in control NOW - all may well be for not. They are hate/fear driven.

They are also in league with the UN - and intend to put this country under it.

The UN has all their ducks in a row - papers/plans drawn and ready to: Take our sovereignty away, put our military under their control (One world Gov't) institute total gun control, every child born will be registered with them in the hour of their birth, control and tax the Internet...The end of our democracy, our Constitution, our freedom, not only of the Internet, but literally.

That would be catastrophic enough but - the unholy hoards who are intent on bringing back the Caliphate will be able to move on all us 'Infidels" across the world with impunity...until it is far too late. (That is, unless you are confident that the UN will step right up to the plate in time - like they are known (NOT) to do.

And why do you think this illegal issue is now taking up all the air time? The dems are masters - with their comrades of the MSM - of diversion.

The illegals problem is hardly new - important to solve, yes, but will not be solved overnight.

IN the meantime, the translations and discoveries coming to light in the documents that are getting translated is off on the back burner somewhere - until it wont be a story anymore and it wont make any difference WHAT is discovered.

We can't be a one issue party - we can't scream that if Bush doesn't do exactly as we demand (and there are several different 'demands' on the solutions, so he can hardly comply with them all - ) we can't say to h*ll with him, let the destroyers take over.

The enemy is outflanking us with diversionary strategy - the most used tool in their arsenal. You'd think we could recognize this by now. So do we wont to win an immediate battle today and let them win the war, or do take off the blinders and stick together? (Otherwise, why'nt you go over to DUer land now, you'll be more comfortable.)

"US: Together we stand or we fall apart." m.t. altogether.

I'm more conservative than the Pres. but undertand fully the important role incrementalism play. In fact, most of us are. That must be really frustrating to a lot of people. This also goes back to perception, where our own ideologies affect our own perception of where the PRes. should go.

Like you, I am worried about the state of the GOP. While I am satisfied with the President, we have been backstabbed on and off by RINOs and others in Congress. Part of the reason why the country is not heading as right or fast as it should is becuase of a GREAT lack of party discipline (ANWR, SS reform, terrorist coddle ammendment, etc).

The party is a lot less conservative but I'm glad that good conservative men do get through. We just have to circumvent the elites and RINOs.

I'll help you with the fork. :)

I am conservative before I am a Republican. The Republicans have been very disappointing. However, this does not translate into that I will vote for a Democrat.

Cnservatives perfected the art of the circular firing squad. We can be quite suicidal and each shot brings us closer to the dissolution of America.
