RNC Memo Warns GOPers Not To Distance Themselves From Bush
The Hotline (National Journal) ^ | March 28, 2006

Posted on 03/28/2006 7:52:53 PM PST by Karl Rand

Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.

Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

Ummm...if you have a ton of dope and a ton of WMDs then wouldn't they both weigh...a ton?

DevSix doesn't seem to think so.

They pick more than one head per hour. But if we kick 'em out the American who replaces him will want double the salary, paid health care, and paid vacation. Even then, I don't think Americans will want the jobs as much as the Mexicans.

So what. I'd have a choice to buy the lettuce or not.

"There is more happening at our borders then is talked about. That is the reality. Just like the NSA leaked surveillance program we had going."

Millions of people cross our border every year, who are unknown. Its completely unguarded. You better hope the Mexicans do a better job than we do (ironically they do), because they are our only line of southern defense. How would our government even know if a truck crossed the border? There aren't enough border patrol, and they barely make any arrests. If you gave a terrorist a truck nuclear bomb inside Mexico, Houston would be dust in a couple of hours.

The bleeding heart leftists claim that poverty is to blame. Don't blame criminals for their crimes!
I know..that arguement so so old now ..What crap. History will see this as a defining moment in America's fall . Keep letting them in and we'll be a 3rd world toilet in 10 years ....or less.....We've been sold out once again ..

Notice how quiet Hellary has been through all this ?

They have been watching us for some time now .. they know exactly what buttons to hit to set off conservatives

Which is why months ago .. Hellary made that comment about being against illegals

A ton of weed takes up a much larger volume than say a ton of guns. If weight wasn't an issue, guns would be easier to smuggle than weed.

I don't want to pay $15 for a head of lettuce

Or $200 for a Taco Bell Burrito Grande.

Just remember that by this time in the 1992 election cycle, still very few had even heard of Bill Clinton.

The 15 buck lettuce is figure of speech to represent the fact that labor costs for these kinds of jobs will shoot through the roof if employers have to depend solely on American labor. Maybe it will only be 10 bucks. Or, more likely, there'll be no American lettuce at all. It will all get shipped from Mexico.

If you think bringing drugs across the border is anything like bringing WMDs or a dirty bomb (which was the premise of my post)....you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

The illegal drugs brought across our borders the past 20 years has done incalculable, irreversible damage, more than any WMD since no WMDs has ever made it across...Yet.

"Like the President said: "I love free speech.""

Sorry, I can't find my timeline here... Was this before or after he signed campaign finance/free speech reform into law? ...

Sadly, too many just don't get it, and are content to go and handle their snakes. Sitting out really works. Look at the roaring successes in 1992, 1996, 1998 (sit out because the GOP didn't push impeachment enough) and the 2000 races (sit out because of a 20 year old DUI-real nice!). Each time, the GOP lost seats.

But what about the magical guns detectors that see through the sides of cargo vans and trucks?

All I can say to that brilliant post is that some people can handle economics and some people can't.

Attacking the President is counter productive for all Republicans, not just the candidates launching the attacks.

It's only counterproductive if your overall goal is to get Republicans elected, rather than pursuing responsible, Constitutional governance.

"My post that you replied to was dealing with the WOT and if ME terrorists can easily walk into our Country and hit us with a dirty bomb, WMDs, ect. This is not the case."

Actually, yes it is. News Story
