TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Dogs would be able to join their owners at some restaurants with outdoor seating under a bill the Senate Regulated Industries Committee has approved.
The measure (SB 1172) would create a three-year test program to let cities that want to participate give restaurants exemptions from the health code to allow dogs to accompany their owners on outdoor patios or sidewalk dining areas.
Restaurant participation would be voluntary and there would be sanitary requirements. For example, dogs wouldn't be able to lick off a customer's plate, wouldn't be able to sit in a chair, and would have to be on a leash. Similar legislation is making its way through the committee process in the House.
"Waiter, there's a flea in my soup!"
What about vice versa?
Ah... I didn't know I couldn't do this already:')
LOL!
We already do that all the time out here in S. FL. I guess the restraunts are not following the law, but they let us eat with our dog at outside tables....They usually even bring the dog a bowl of water.
susie
Just a nice quiet evening of fine food, dancing and betting on the dog fights. Hmmmm.
It's great that the legislature has such important things to do. What if someone has a pet cockroach?
"Spot, party of five.....your table is ready."
OK, well, my dog smokes and he can't read those "No Smoking" signs. Well, he could if he'd wear his glasses, but he thinks it turns the bitches off. He has to go right up and sniff 'em before he even knows which bitch it is.
