This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

This constant focus on polls is really infuriating. Clinton led by the polls and we can see where that got us.

Why would they be cropped out?
Have you something against attractive, well-figured Irish gals having their picture taken alongside the President?

You're welcome, Just.
It had to be hard for both the President and Andy to part. Andy's been a good and loyal friend.

You only need to look closely at Andy Card's eyes to see he is tired and needs to change course. He has had a brutal schedule for 5 years and he needs to recharge his batteries.
Maybe not actual rest but a fresh challenge.
God Bless him and his wife he has been a loyal and faithful servant and he deserves time to do his own thing.

It is my view that only legitimate Dosers who have a fundamental respect for the President should be honored on this thread...........even in fun.
Perhaps if you'd show some respect for this fine leader and man of character and honor on the rest of this forum, I might change my mind about you.....
Other posters may disagree, but I would prefer that you leave now, unless you want to contribute to the purpose of the thread........

Andy looks like he's about to break down in tears. I hope whatever he decides to do is as fulfilling as these last 5 years must have been. He has really been a good man to have at Dubya's side.

I love these 2 photos of the VP looking at President whilst the President is speaking. There is such a look of respect and even pride on his face. Reminds me of the photos taken at the Victory Rally at the Reagan Building in Novemeber 2004.

That's beautiful jonny. You really capture GW's expressions and character in your drawing. You should send some of your work to the White House.

I thought that they both were close to tears, McGavin.
It's going to be rough to part, I think.
