This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!
I am watching the exchange between Leahy and Rice as I view this photo. He is talking to her like some people talk to their household help, telling her what she should do tomorrow.
He is insufferable!!!
Exactly why they're called DUMMIES! LOL!
btw, I was REALLY close to that school. ;)
"...so instead of eating first and then posting, I'm posting first and then eating. :)"
Hi! & awww that's cute! Nice to see you here again!
Deb, your research and contribution to this thread is just amazing!!
If it were within my power to do so, snugs, I would find a way for you to meet our Vice President. He would be delighted to know he has such a loyal and dear fan.
But now I have to get moving on the prayer thread. I'm already late!
(But dinner was good. :)
Indeed!
May. I might not wait but will order the book myself.
I know what you mean about the tactics of the left angering us so much that sometimes reading about it is overwhelming. Those are the days I ask why I ever developed such an interest in politics and why it couldn't have been knitting or something :-)
"My daughter is recovering nicely from surgery, but my son had to have a liver scan. I think that came out just fine, though. Tomorrow he has yet another dr's appt. and possibly more tests. I would truly appreciate more prayers for a good outcome. And to keep ME calm."
Prayers up for you and your children . . . May God grant you the "calm" you seek!!
Know you like the way back singers, a long time resident in the hood there is Frankie Lane
How is the arm/wrist?
They really are. Andy Card never got compliments for anything he did right but every time something went wrong, he sure got the complaints. I've been paying attention for a while now and Andy Card has been one of my favorite members of the administration. He's patient, loyal, and has an amazing work ethic. I hope he writes a book. And runs for office. Massachusetts could use a new conservative governor since Romney's not running again.
Much, much better. I tell you, physical therapy is THE bomb!
I'm better than I've been in years. (She is helping me with my knee and back, too)
Thanks for asking.
I'm sure you're right. It was very clear how much he respects and admires President Bush. And it looked pretty mutual. I just hope Andy gets his rest now. I doubt he got very much sleep as Chief of Staff.
But I HEAR you when it comes to wondering sometimes if it's worth the aggravation.
When it's in your blood, there's not much you can do to stop it, though. I remember listening through the register in my room, past my bedtime when I was ten, to find out that Nixon was beaten by Kennedy, and crying.
I think I'm pretty hopeless.
"...I would prefer that you leave now, unless you want to contribute to the purpose of the thread........"
Well said all of this post...Get out Bush Bashers!!!!!!!& stay out!!!!!!!
I have never seen you, but if you are half as lovely in person as your soul, wit and caring nature are in print, then you ARE quite beautiful - Ohio!
