[history]
I'm trying. I've been trying all week. The other day, I drove another 30 miles or so on the streets and alleys of Baghdad. I'm looking for the civil war that The New York Times declared. And I just can't find it.

Did the New York
Times declare Civil War?
I have been looking for this to happen for some time, but was not aware that it had occured.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if the rest of the MSM failed to go along? You will know for sure that the Times is spent as a force if happens.

They're only in Baghdad for the byline, and they might as well let their Iraqi employees phone it in to the States. Whenever you see a column filed from Baghdad by a semi‑celeb journalist with a "contribution" by a local Iraqi, it means this: The Iraqi went out and got the story, while the journalist stayed in his or her room. And the Iraqi stringers have cracked the code: The Americans don't pay for good news. So they exaggerate the bad.
Bump and ping and everything else - news about our glorious reporters and why the only place the terrorists win is in the media.

Anything worth having is worth working for. The MSM will just have to double their output of Iraqi Civil War stories if they really want this thing to happen. We'll see how bad they want it and if they can actually go the distance and continue to sally forth with stories even the left knows aren't true, but would like to desperately like to believe. Perception is reality, right?

some parties in the West are anxious to believe the worst about Iraq. They've staked their reputations on Iraq's failure. Reputations? Dang, they've staked their hopes and dreams on Iraq's failure. The only talking point the Democrats have is "Iraq is another Vietnam quagmire." Facts to the contrary will not, repeat, will not, be reported in the liberal, anti-American press (a.k.a. "the MSM").
Kudos to this young intel officer, and thank you to all our troops terrorizing the Iraqi women and children with gifts, smiles, protection, security and FREEDOM.

Well this is great, I'm already aware of the lies of the media ... but no liberal wants to read whats really happening over there... CNN/NPR/Democracy Now/Air America will suffice in supporting their own perceptions.
To: PlainOleAmerican
Aren't Iraqi Shi'ites still killing Iraqi Sunnis and vice-versa?
Aren't American-trained Iraqi security forces now stepping up and aiding in these battles against Iraqi insurgents?
Not all of these 'insurgents' are foreign-born.
Citizens from country A fighting other citizens from country A = Civil War.
I don't see what the big deal is, as long as the right group of combatants wins (whomever that group may be).
This "It IS a Civil War!! No, it's not!!!" debate looks like a case of semantics.

"Did the New York Times declare Civil War?"
Shoot, the only "Civil War" that NYT's can declare and be accurate is their war on this administration and this President.
