My fear is they try to lump everything together and it ends up going no where. I believe in the KISS Theory,"keep it simple, stupid".
Sounds good to me!
Ahhh, but did you agree with Feinstein when she expressed the same thing, just before the lunch break? ;-)
Then that is where the penalties for employers need to be stiff enough where they don't want to hire them.
That should make President Bush happy.
I don't understand what they have been "saying"? I guess I need to tune into Lou Dobbs tonight and see what he got out of this hearing..
sw
Lou Dobbs? eww, that sounds unbearable.
Especially when it's 9th Circus, who will rule in favor of illegals, i.e., no deportation.
Sadly I guess I do, I just don't see why the rush all of a sudden we have been screaming about this for several years now, and I don't see why we need to rush now. Let's get it right! McCain/Feingold was a rush and that's a disaster!
I like Sessions and I understand what he is saying...but rushing isn't how I would characterize Washington's response to the immigration problem.
That's for sure. But this action in the Judiciary Committee is a hurried rush. They're getting punchy too.
I think the GOP are concerned there could be major RIOTS if they do something drastic at this time, with these type of protests that have been going down.
Let me repeat that.
I don't want the overall plans of immigration reform rushed but I do want the border's protection and enforcement part of it done. I don't know how hard it is to put up a fence, cameras, double law officers and machine guns. Put a 6 man enforcement outpost every 10 miles the length of the border and that would allow for a maximum 5-7 minute response times to react to crossing that will be caught on the cameras that see every inch of the fence. Just a thought.
Do you have the Durbin amendment as passed?
I'm surprised they haven't taken a break to go out and see what the latest polling numbers are with the voters.
No. I wish I did. All these amendments are bottled up in the Judicairy Committee, and I haven't looked for a source for their language.
Quite different from amendments being offered in open session, outside of committee, wehre the language is (almost always) available, at most the day after the amendment is offered.
