Immigration Reform Markup
Sen. Arlen Spector (R-PA) chairs a full Judiciary Committee meeting to mark up pending legislation including a draft bill on comprehensive immigration overhaul. Also, the committee will vote on a bill to televise Supreme Court proceedings and judicial nominations to federal courts.

Good question. Oh, there's a Jamaican flag (why aren't they in Miami with the rest of their illegal pals?)
I know that my government is allowing me to be tortured over their inability to live up to their oaths! It's time for a redress of grievances!!!
Deport the invaders NOW!!!!
The local news here in the Dallas area, just said that "the school district is MOST concerned about the safety of the students..and sent buses to pick them up and take them back to school"...
My guess, nothing will happen to them, because the school board is made up of a lot of hispanics..and the Superintendent is the one that proclaimed over the summer...that any Principal of a school with a lot of hispanics (almost all of them),.that isn't bi-lingual, WILL LOSE THEIR JOB, so he can place a bi-lingal person in that job.
The school board also wanted to hire ILLEGALS as teachers of students that don't speak English. Well..not ALL of the school board, but some did....I don't know if they have voted on that yet.
They have no control over the schools.
School website is down, BTW.
They probably don't want any e-mail getting through. I plan on calling these schools this afternoon. They're wasting my tax money by letting the inmates run the asylum!
As of my last count, the schools involved are:
Gardena High
South Gate high school
Huntington Park high school
(L.A.) Jordan High
San Fernando high school
Fairfax high school.
Why should they? They are SENATORS after all...
Are they about to TAKE DOWN THE AMERICAN FLAG on that flagpole????!??!?!
Skipping school is not against the law. We don't live in a police state.
It was called truancy when I was in school and it was against the law. Has that changed?
Oh, dear....Specter has come up with a "compromise"...which we all know means ducking responsibilty, hard work...and screwing Americans.
If we don't secure our borders, you can bet your last peso we will be living in a grandiose, Big Brother "Police State" very shortly. This issue is starting to boil over.
Nope, I can already tell...I am not going to like Specter's compromise...but, I bet enough Republicans WILL to basically GUT Kyl, Cornyn and Session's ....
Brownback co-sponsor of Kennedy/McCain...GREAT, blech
I don't know where you're from but here in Miami truancy is against the law.
I'm wiped ( got up to early) and his voice puts me to sleep
What is his compromise??
I just called the Superintendent of L.A. Schools, and was told that the police have been sent out to PROTECT THE STUDENTS who have jumped the fence (Huntington Park High School is on lockdown since 7:30 a.m.) and are out in the streets.
I said they are the ones who are a danger; the citizens need to be protected from THEM. These images of Los Angeles are going out across the nation and the world, that we have no control and that our school system teaches the students ingratitude towards this country and the taxpayers who are supporting their education.
NO, they will NOT be punished. Unbelievable.
He gets so puffed up when he can say that. Little poppinjay.

(sorry again to be hijacking the thread)
No it hasn't changed .. but truancy officers aren't going to go after all these kids for one day
With that said .. the school can say/do something about it .. though I won't hold my breath on that
Sounds like Kennedy objects to Specter's compromise
