It seems that for once the French strategy of "Retreat!" is paying off. With no one else to attack the animals are turning on each other.

Indeed. And let us not forget that France is a nuclear power. Such instability within a nuclear power country should cause some concern.
Sounds like a call for the UN calvary. /sarc

This is seeming too much like a coincidence. The 1968 crowd are behind the anti-war movement here. I suspect they ginned up these riots and the immigration rallies here, too. They are also move-on.org. Creepy.

Has anyone seen anything about this story of Islamos sacking the ecole de chartes and buring medieval manuscripts? First I have seen of it and an obvious direct attack on 'crusader' cultural treasures:

in Seine-Saint-Denis »Muslims and leftists totalitarians destroy France’s millennium Christian legacy
After destroying the Buddhas of Afghanistan, burning the Churches of Kosovo, Muslims are now destroying the Christian legacy of France.

Here is a summarized translation of an article of www.chretiente.info .

Since the riots of November 2005, we know that the French government is not able to protect the French citizens. Instead of taking legal action against criminals, the government rewarded rioters.

Today (march 22, 2006) we learn that this government has let 1,000 years of cultural and religious legacy to become smoke and ashes.

Barbarians and savages entered in the library of “l’Ecole des Chartes” (100,000 books) in the Sorbonne, and destroyed writings of abbeys of Île-de-France containing all the official documents since the middle age.

Documents of more than TEN CENTURIES!

If the French populate is abandoned by its government, it will defend itself. However books and manuscripts can not defend themselves.

The state has failed in its 3 major missions:
1- To protect its territory.
2- To protect its citizens and their goods.
3- To protect and to transmit its cultural and religious heritage.

Our leaders have inherited more than 15 centuries of history, legacy and culture. They are not only denying this heritage, but they are also allowing the destruction of what our ancestors have build, written, thought century after century.

Greetings,
SUXXES.

I am truly appalled. Can this really have happened?
My ancestors came from Bas Normande, I feel closeness with the true French, at this time.
What can be done? As a child I remember the reports of the actions of the CRS in controlling the ‘68 students riots, right or wrong at that time.
Where are they now when there are so many who hate France, and attack Her from within?
The Iron fist maybe the only answer. Who will wear the Glove? Chirac?
Where is the Gallic pride?
Where is La Resistance? All Europeans must rally to save France if she descends into chaos and anarchy.

This is what muslims do whenever they take over a country…they destroy the cultural and religious heritage, they erase any trace of anything that used to be there before islam.
When the muslim armies conquered Egypt in the 7th century, they destroyed/burned down the Al Ashra library, which was the largest library in the world at that time.
If the french people will not rise and stop the muslim barbarians, they will destroy The Louvre next and then L`Arc to tryomphe and L`Obelisque, and Notre Dame, etc.
It will happen in 10-15 years, unless the french people stand up and fight.

It’s hard to feel sorry for the French, but I feel for the docments that were burned. An insult to history and civiliation. F*cking Muslims will all burn in hell.

The curators of all the galeries in France should be packing their treasures and storing them in a safe place where, even in the buildings are torched, the paintings will not get smoke or water damage. I fear we are about to lose many of civilizations finest treasures in the coming conflict. The trouble is that it’s impossible to tell the rioting students from the barbarians from the banlieues and in the end they wreck the same kind of havoc. Though the students don’t want to continue and take over the country but they are enabling the others with their foolish strikes and riots. They don’t see that but they are.

there is no hope for western civilzation that has wholeheartedly embraced
the islam and rejected Christ and Israel!

unfortunately the seeds of the great tribulation as foretold in the bible are being sprinkled all over the whole world in the form of islam and there will be no escape!

the solution?

please be sure that you have truly accepted Christ (from the heart) as your
saviour: then you will be safe in that you will be raptured to heaven before
the great tribulation begins!

The politicians are but a few thousand persons.
The muslims are a few millions, but they are still a small 10%minority.
The french people make up the rest of the 90%vast majority of the nation.
If the french nation rises and demand that the current political leaders step down,if the french nation floods the streets of France and demand that the current political leaders not only step down but be brought to justi ce for incompetence and treason,if they elect hard right leaders to stop immigration,to start deportations,if,if,if….IT IS POSSIBLE.
Will it happen??!!…i don`t know,probably not.
At least not until it will almost be too late.

Court Justice Z S Lohat, Metropolitan Magistrate of Delhi gave a landmark verdict discharging Rajkumar Arya and Indra Sain Sharma on 31 July, 1986. I give below the operative portion from his judgement:

‘It is found that the Ayats are reproduced in the same form as are translated in the said ‘Quran Majeed’. In my opinion the writer by writing the above words has expressed his opinion or suggestion and at the most it can be branded as a fair criticism of what is contained in the holy book of Mohammedans’.. With due regard to the holy book of ‘Quran Majeed’, a close perusal of the Ayats shows that the same are harmful and teach hatred and are likely to create differences between Mohammedans on one hand and the remaining communities on the other. In view of the above discussion, I am therefore of the view that there is no prima facie case against the accused as offences alleged against the accused do not fall prima facie within the four corners of Sections 153-A/295-A of the Indian Penal Code and hence both of the accused are discharged’.

If this is indeed the case, the world has just lost what are probably some of the oldest extant musical notations in print and examples of some of the medieval period’s greatest scholarship and theology.

If you’ve ever seen medieval manuscripts, they can often be among the most beautiful pieces of art produced in the West. They speak of the fath of the men who came before us, the musings of these men, and the creative talents and imaginations. I have not personally seen those at the l’ecole des Chartres, but regardless, they are now lost forever. Such creativity and purity of faith juxtaposed with the vile hatred that is Islam.

My prayers for France. God help and God bless. Unless something is done, things can only get worse.

We in the tolerant west are slowly realising that islam intends to destroy our civilisation, and force us under its babaric, superstition-based yoke, using similar tactics to those employed in history. Multi-culturalism cannot succeed. Those who think there is no threat really should wake up, and listen to sincere warnings which are based on actual statements from ‘the enemy within’. We are seen as weak by fanatics, who aim to subjugate us by using fear, violence, and political correctness. We MUST separate ourselves from muslims, they MUST go back to their original country. They do NOT want to mix with us, as we are not muslims. If we bow to them they might tolerate us, but otherwise we are marked down for death if we will not submit.

This is unbelievable. I pinch myself; is this for real?

Here in the relative comfort of my home here in Canada, I had not become aware of the threat of Islamism until I learned of the rioting, burning and looting in France a few months ago, and later, even more rioting, murder and general mayhem, the a result of some silly cartoons in a Danish newspaper. How ironic it is that the Nazis behaved more mildly so than these bastards. My father was an airman during WWII, a volunteer, doing so on his own volition. He rarely spoke of those times because the memories were so painful: He lost many good friends. My father passed away 12 years ago and if there is a blessing in this it’s that he does not have to witness to see that which he believed in, both literally and figuratively, out of fear or tolerance, go up in flames.

To the true patriots of France, to those who remember the occupation during wwii I am truly sorry and I hope there is a way out of this horror.

Sorry to piss on your fire guys but smells like bullshit to me. Did you not think this story was slightly suspect given that

a) it’s totally unsourced;
b) there are no pictures of it;
c) it hasn’t been picked up by any REAL media outlets (i.e. the ones that publish NEWS as opposed to RUMOUR dressed up as fact)

In fact, it’s total rubbish:
- the story originated on a blog called le sot de l’ange, who retracted the story here: http://lesotdelange.blogspot.com/2006/03/post.html
- Pierre Assouline has a fairly good summary over at the lemonde blog. source: http://passouline.blog.lemonde.fr/livres/2006/03/des_livres_brls.html

Adela Doberman says “The muslims are a few millions, but they are still a small 10% minority. The french people make up the rest of the 90% vast majority of the nation”, but misses a key fact. France may be 10 or 11% Muslim, but today Muslims give birth to one third of the babies in France - meaning that 20 or so years from now, they’ll make up over 20% of the French population - and 50 years from now, I shudder to think. When they start burning books and documents - the cornerstone of civilization itself, then don’t be too surprised to see Western civilization itself incinerated before the end of this century.

Mark, I’ll take your links seriously and withhold judgement until further reports come out.

However, you were too hasty when you said that the story had not been picked up by any “real” media outlets. I found reports at AFP (Agence France-Presse), the San Francisco Chronicle, and the BBC.

As for the story smelling like bullshit, I disagree: Muslims have been destroying “infidel” books for centuries (not to mention churches and synagogues and temples…and art, etc) and many Muslim leaders are quite open about their intention to obliterate our culture. So there is absolutely nothing unbelievable about a report of Muslims destroying books. As for anarchists, well, we all know how violent and destructive they can be.

This is a travesty of cowardice; the French obviously don’t know their history.

If they did, they would kow that appeasement never works and has never ever worked with muslims; why?

Because the hate of an illiterate camel driver and his forty thieves pushes muslims to emmulate him and his ways. Ways that died out years ago.

Ways that do not include love mercy or tolerance; ways that only include the sword, Islam’s one answer to disagreement.

They cannot stand dissgreement becasue they would loose and see the error of their ways.

But they say, christianity is the same. if that is so, why does Christianity produce Mother Theresa while Islam produces beheadings?

PSS,
My point was that even if the muslims are 10 % of the population right now, that is still a small minority, compared to the 90% vast majority of the french nation….so the time to act is now while the muslims are still a small minotiry, and not 10-20 years from now, when their numbers will be far greater.
And since they are only 10% of the total population,i don`t see any reason why the french shouldn`t be able to kick their asses and kick them out.

I was a teenager when I was first exposed to class warfare, mob rule etc., by reading about the mobs sacking the palaces and homes of the wealthy during the French Revolution.

Having no use for most of the furnishings, bibelots etc. they found in the homes, the useful idiots simply destroyed them so the eeee-vil rich couldn't have them. This was in the relatively benign days before the beheadings began.

The French Revolution wasn't even the start of it, really. The French Wars of Religion in the 16th century did much to thin the bloodlines. Later, the "Best and the Brightest" of successive French generations were decimated in the Napoleonic Wars, the Franco-Prussian War, and, most cruelly, in WWI, where many thousands of French soldiers were directly mindlessly by their officers into withering German machine gun fire. Then, in WWII, the French suffered more than half a million military and civilian deaths (even after surrendering to the Wehrmacht). Then came the defeat at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, at the cost of 2200 more lives.

Since the French are going to be sending checks to these thugs no matter what, they should announce that anybody who wants a check will have to move back to wherever it was they came from. Spend a little more on postage and get these people to move back to Algeria.

I don't have time to wade through all the charges and counter-charges quoted in your post, but history (including recent history) tells us that Muslims invariably seek to wipe out the cultural/religious heritage of the places they overwhelm. We saw what the Taliban did to the famous Buddhist cliff sculptures in Afghanistan, now literally blown to rubble. The Muslims will do the same thing to the Christian heritage of France, and there have already been numerous well-documented attacks on French Churches and Jewish Temples. If the Muslim radicals get hold of the libraries and museums of France, the history within will be destroyed. Bet on it.
